Phenomenal Place

5 of 5
This property is better than advertised. First off, the house itself is very nice and has a great private feel to it with a big lawn and fruit trees around. You can even pick and eat the fruit. We made sangrias with the fruit, which was pretty cool. Second, the view is absurd. The house is situated on the edge of a bluff overlooking the ocean. Third, the community is extremely nice and you have access to a couple of the most spectacular and secluded beaches in all of Kauai. Although there is public access, because the community is gated, I don't think a lot of folks take advantage of the beaches near the house. When we were on the beaches near the house, we never saw another soul. Fourth, the house itself has everything you would need and more. Great kitchen for cooking and lots of plates, pots, pans, etc. The beds are good and the rooms are spacious. In sum, it feels like you are in a dream when you are here and you have to pinch yourself. I have been to Kauai 2 other times and been to all of the other Hawaiian Islands, and I can say that this is the best experience I have had in terms of lodging.

Not just great. SPECTACULAR!

5 of 5
OMG!! Wow! and OMG again! That's what we kept saying from the moment we pulled on to the Botanical-Gardens-like half-mile "driveway". The vegetation and landscaping leading up to the house was just gorgeous and a wonderful prelude of what was to come. Mia Huna's views, furnishings and attention to detail were all extraordinary! We had high expectations for this home, based on previous reviews and the photos, but we were secretly prepared for something less. However, we were pleasantly pleased by how much this home (estate really) vastly exceeded our expectations. The views, from virtually every angle or window were breathtaking...and not just the ocean views, but the magnificently manicured grounds and beautiful surrounding mountains. I hope this doesn't sound like hyperbole, because it's not. This is truly an extraordinary and exceptional home. Even the beautiful pool was wonderful. Like everywhere else on the property, we had total privacy at the pool and swam several times a day in silky it's waters. Not sure what made the water so soothing, but it was incredible; like swimming in liquid satin. Before I run out of space or adjectives I do want to give huge credit to the owners for their attention to what their guests need. Everything we could imagine (other than a pony,) was provided for us...and in great condition. It was clean, neat and well-stocked, giving us an immediate "seductive island-breeze" experience. We not only look forward to coming back often in the future, but will recommend this fabulous home to many friends and anyone who wants a fantastic and memorable experience. OMG again!

Perfect Honeymoon Retreat!

5 of 5
We stayed at the super cute Plumeria Moon for the second half of our honeymoon and it was wonderful! We first noticed the amazing ocean view from the porch and then the hot tub :) The cottage really has everything you need for a comfy stay and shops and conveniences are only a short drive away. We cooked in for most meals and packed lunches to go down to the private beach which was just a short walk down the driveway. Getting down to the beach from the road was a bit of an adventure - coming back up was more of a cardio workout. 298 steps (I counted)! BUT the privacy of the beach was amazing and we only saw one other family on the beach the whole time - oh and a monk seal came up on shore to sunbathe one day. The beach was perfect - just don't forget anything in the cottage before you make the trek down! The cottage was comfy and clean and Thomas and his staff responded to our questions and requests quickly. We would definitely consider this cottage again if we ever get back to Kauai! If you stay - read the guest book - we got a lot of great tips for things to do and see and places to shop in the area!
