Perfect location, fantastic ammenities and delightful hosts

5 of 5
My husband and I have been lucky enough to have travelled to Maui countless times over the last few decades. Never before have we so enjoyed our accommodations as we did the AloAku. I almost hesitate to give the review it deserves for fear of blowing our cover-If everyone knows how great it is we might not be able to get in! First of all, the location could not be more perfect. You're in the middle of Kihei, walking distance to groceries, restaurants and shopping BUT far enough away from the road to feel like you're in the middle of nowhere. The mangrove forest helped to create such a charming atmosphere-Just beautiful. Our view was second to none-Straight across beautiful, green lawn to the (mostly deserted) beach. Priceless sunsets were enjoyed from the lanai every night. If all this isn't enough, ours hosts-Gary and Char-have thought of everything visitors may need. We took advantage of the paddle boards, bikes, beach gear, ice chests and more. They even lent us furniture to entertain friends and family while we were there. Perfect! Needless to say, AlohaAku was the best place we've ever stayed on Maui. We hope to be there again soon!

Absolutely The Best!

We had the most relaxing vacation. Char and Gary are perfect hosts. The accommodations are exactly as described and more. Five stars is just not enough. We have found a home away from home. Cindy and Lee

AlohaAku Paradise

While I would say this is probably not a family unit, it worked well for us for the 9 days we stayed there. Our only problem was the back to back bedrooms. You cannot beat the full kitchen and living area. Wifi was always extremely dependable. All of the toys(paddle boards, kayaks, bikes) and the common area were totally stocked and more than we expected. Char and Gary were available regularly for advice and any needs we had. This specific area of the bay had numerous coral formations several hundred yards off shore that were easily accessible by paddle board and kayak with many sea turtles inhabiting the area, along with a number of larger reef fish. Privacy is not a concern. 700 feet from Kihei Road with a very friendly public course just up the hill. Right in the heart of Kihei with out all the noise of the street side condos. We will be back, maybe without the teenage boys next time.
