What an incredible find!

5 of 5
Beautiful gem, west facing towards incredible sunsets -- just a short walk across a well manicured lawn to the beach. When you are there you can't tell that the busy streets of Kihei are so close. Our suite worked great for our family --big bedroom and a family/kitchen area with a foldout futon couch and an extra futon provided so each adult "kid" had her own bed. Loved the kitchen filled with juice, yogurt, pastries, cereal, coffee and fruit upon arrival. Also, a box of macadamia nut chocolates and a can of macadamia nuts on the counter were very much appreciated! There was a common area accessible to all guests where we could get our breakfast items for the morning. There was also an adjoining room filled with a huge number of books and DVDs. We watched a video one night in our suite --- so great to have a DVD player and also access to so many TV channels -- also watched a football bowl game one evening! We got takeout food nearby one night and used the microwave to reheat it, and bought food at a large grocery store just a block away to make dinner another night -- so convenient! The kitchen had all the dishes, pots and pans, blender, etc. that were needed. We took advantage of the paddle boards, kayaks and bikes that were right there for the borrowing. We took Char's advice and walked to the local CVS to buy $9.99 water shoes to protect our feet from the sharp rocks in the ocean -- there were some water shoes to borrow but to make sure we had ones in our sizes when we needed them we decided to get our own. We loved the jacuzzi 10 steps away from our suite with the same view of the ocean as from our patio! We used the large, new washer and dryer in a nearby room and it was so great to have the soap and dryer sheets right there to use! We really liked the convenience of receiving an email two days before our arrival with all the codes needed to get into our suite, common area, equipment lockers, etc. Char and Gary were such wonderful, friendly hosts! This is truly a gem that I know will be very popular! We wish we were still there!

Since I'd Never Make it as a Beach Bum. . .

5 of 5
We lucked out on this gem for our first trip to Maui! This place is the perfect location--right in the heart of Kihei but far enough from the traffic and noise to make you feel like you're at an exclusive resort. I so miss my morning ritual of walking the 50 feet to the mostly private beach with my coffee, book and breakfast! They have thought of everything to keep you comfortable for your stay! I've been scheming on how I could make it as a beach bum ever since I got home. . . Unfortunately, I get easily spoiled and I really like warm, clean showers; comfortable beds; perfectly-placed lanais; friendly hosts and hostesses; relaxing spas and soaking pools; beach toys, beach chairs and mats; nutritious snacks and breakfast items; and all of the countless amenities. . . So alas, I'll have to content myself with regular visits to AlohaAku!
