A WONDERFUL WEEK!

We loved staying in John's beautiful home! John and Krista were great to work with. The home is perfectly located in the town of Captain Cook, away from the more touristy areas of Kona and Kohala, although we enjoyed visiting those areas for a meal or a stroll. On our second day, we kayaked on the bay and swam with spinner dolphins for close to two hours; they jumped and spun around just 10 feet from us. That night we snorkeled with the manta rays with a great tour operator, Blue Sea Cruises. We were in the water for 30 minutes with eight enormous mantas and they were within inches of us. Almost too close for me! On Tuesday evening we went to a luau at the Mauna Kea resort, which was very well done as far as luaus go. Wednesday we snorkeled and kayaked again. We enjoyed dinner at Sam Choy's that night. Thursday my husband and sons played golf at Makalei Golf Club while I enjoyed a massage at the Fairmont Orchid. Friday we spent the entire day at the Kilauea Volcano park which was fabulous. And then after leaving this lovely home on Saturday, we enjoyed a delicious lunch by the water at the Four Seasons resort. We also enjoyed swimming with turtles and reef sharks nearby at Two Step on Friday and Saturday mornings. All in all we had a fantastic time, and John's home was the perfect place to relax and enjoy ourselves after activity-filled days.

AN AUTHENTIC HAWAIIAN EXPERIENCE

5 of 5
Staying at the Manini Point Beach House was a memorable and pleasurable experience for us. The location is perfect, such serenity and beauty and within walking distance from an exceptional beach for water activities. The house is well appointed and a great place to relax and unwind. Steve and Elizabeth were great hosts. We enjoyed our time spent with them. We especially loved the tour of their organic farm. We will definitely recommend staying here to our family and friends. In fact, we already have! Book it, you'll love it.

LOVED IT!

This is the best location for snorkeling that the Big Island has to offer! On our first day we were snorkeling with a sea turtle, a manta ray and hundreds of fish right off the backside off the house. There is very easy access to the ocean if you follow the path down and walk less than 50 yards across the lava flow. It was very clean and well-maintained, had all the extra amenities you could need and plenty of space. We shopped at Costco in Kona upon our arrival to pick up our staple items, but purchased local fruits, vegetables and eggs right up the road from the house. It was a full days drive to visit Volcano National Park and another day to see the sites in Hilo & Mauna Kea Observatory, but was great to come back to the ocean breeze in the evenings. We also rented kayaks a few blocks away and spent another day exploring and snorkeling the areas around Captain Cook's Monument and the shorelines around the house. I hope this home is available again next year as we had a fantastic time!
