Great place to stay at a very affordable price

5 of 5
I stay a full week at Artsy rainforest Hideaway and I can highly recommend the place. The owner has done a fabulous work and created a one of a kind place to stay on big island. The place is spacious and well furnished. You will get a lot for an inexpensive place. It is well located in a peaceful and quiet district, with a lush surrouding. It is close to shopping centers and other amenities. If you are planing to visit Volcano national park, it is not far away without having to pay for the high prices you can get in Volcano. You are at driving distance to a lot of very interesting places and things to do on big island. Dan has done a tremendous work at landscaping his land and it was not a small task. If you have kids they will love the pond with the ducks and ducklings. Every morning you will even get fresh eggs from one of his chicken, right at your doorstep. Perfect for breakfeast. Dan has also created a very unique place with all the lights and artsy things. Even though the place is inexpensive (for big island) it is trully well equipped. For rainy days you will get a full entertainment center with a screen big enough to make you fill like in a movie theater. Moreover, you will get an extra flat screen TV in the bedroom. He does have a very large selection of DVD (movies) in addition to a VCR. The appartement is independant from the main house with a great view on the garden. You will get a niceliving room including a fully equipped kitchen . in the kitchen drawers you will get everything you may think of for cooking. A cosy bedroom with enough space to put away you things and a very nice bathroom with a good shower in a tub. Everything was very clean when I arrived. When I compared to other places , i have to say that Artsy rainforest is trully unique , it's inexpensive (for big island) but you will get a lot for the price. A great location, a peaceful setting, a very well equiped place and Dan, the owner is a very attentive and considerate host. He was very interested in making my stay as comfortable as possible. He is also one of the reason I had a wonderful time at Artsy rainforest hideway. A perfect host in a great place. If I come back on big island I know already where I will stay.

Lovely Hawaii Paradise Home

5 of 5
When you think of Paradise on the Big Island, O'O house is the perfect place to stay. This is a beautiful, comfortable, immaculate and spacious home! This charming Hawaii Paradise Home provides a very peaceful and relaxing atmosphere. My husband and I were delighted when we arrived and entered this home for our vacation! We loved the cleanliness and the decor too. This home is equipped with everything you need, including beach towels, beach chairs, boogie boards, fishing poles and golf clubs. The location was ideal too, close to Hilo, Farmer's Market, hiking trails, and volcano. The Keaau Framer's Market was only a few miles away with fresh vegetables, Hawaiian foods, and goodies. We enjoyed sitting on the front lanai and sipping coffee each morning as we viewed the lovely landscape. We heard the soothing sounds of the ocean, which is only a block away. When you walk outside of the house, turn right, then turn left, and there are trails for hiking or strolls along the ocean shore, very scenic! We visited Rainbow Falls, Akaka Falls, Kolekole Beach Park, Panalu'u Black sand beach, and toured volcano. We swam in the hot springs and went diving in Kapoho. We loved Paolo's Cafe, Hilo Bay Cafe, and Ken's House of Pancakes. This home provides the opportunity to relax and enjoy the beauty of old style Hawaii, without large hotels and crowds. The caretakers on the island were great, very friendly, but did not bother us. We loved the home and we plan on returning next year for more adventure! We recommend this Hawaii Paradise Vacation Home for couples or families that are looking for a great place to stay. Mahalo, Kim & Eric
