Lovely, quiet and clean

5 of 5
We loved staying in this quiet and lovely home. The view from the lanai is great. This is a clean, comfortable home. Don't miss the Farmers Market in Naalahu on Wednesday morning. It is great. Nancy

A lovely home in a surreal environment

4 of 5
Bob and Sue have a wonderful home and were very easy to work with. The house is well appointed, well maintained and clean. It's not the Ritz-Carlton, but that's not what I expected nor what I paid for. The pool is a wonderful way to relax after the adventures of the day. We learned that nothing on the Big Island is particularly close, but this is a reasonable distance from the attractions of the southern part of the island (South Point, the Green and Black sand beaches, and is about an hour or so from Volcanoes National Park). The neighborhood is the surreal part. The house is in what was obviously intended as a much bigger development, but us now widely scattered houses in a lave field. The nearest neighbor is hundreds of yards away, and the sense of nothingness as the wind whips across the lava is amazing. The sunsets were fantastic. The private beach mentioned is quite a hike, probably three miles, but my five year old made it and the reward was several hours on a Hawaiian beach without another soul present. Where else can you get that? Mahalo for a wonderful vacation.
