Great Value in Kapalua

5 of 5
We had a great stay at this Ridge Villa. The views are spectacular--spanning 180 degrees from Molokai to Makaluapuna Point and beyond. The house faces north, so no sunsets, but we liked not baking in the sun. We never needed the air conditioners; the north/northeast trades kept the house comfortable all day and night. The bonus for leaving the house open is the sound of the ocean. You can lie in bed and watch and listen to the surf roll in. The house was in great shape, with very nice fixtures, kitchen equipment and furniture. A very nice pool is just next door, but situated so that the house is completely private. The pool area is equipped with two high-end Weber grills, and being so close, we were able to walk back and forth to grill our "cheeseburgers in paradise." We walked through some other units in the Kapalua resort, and we think this is one of the nicest for its combination of exposure to the breezes, great views and privacy (you can not see into the house from either neighboring houses or the road). The only thing that keeps this from being perfect is the occasional noise from the road, which runs along the ridge immediately below this house. But that's a very minor issue in an otherwise perfect setting. We had the opportunity to meet the owner, who was helpful and very knowledgeable. We would certainly rent here again.

Superb Vacation Rental for Two Couples

5 of 5
Wonderful 10 days at the condo! The location is on the bluff overlooking Oneloa Bay straight ahead, Honokahua Bay 20 degrees to the right, and Hawea Point to the left. The Condo is roughly 300 above sea level, and there has a clear view of the beaches and points, 15 miles out to sea, and Moloka'i. Golf courses just up the hill. Well-maintained tropical landscaping is interesting -- lots of variety. There is a walking path around the beaches and easy access directly to Oneloa by foot; 10 minutes to Kapalua Bay by foot on the same path. Glass walls on 3 sides of the great room - super view! The layout consists of two seating areas, one with two sofas and another facing the ocean. The pool is 100' away. QUIET! Parking at the front door bridge. Dining table for 6 +. Everything is NEW and in perfect condition, including the cherry kitchen with granite counters, HD Tvs, two master bedroom suites, 3 baths/showers. Beds are very comfortable and the sheets soft. Blackout curtains in the bedrooms. Desk has a big computer monitor, mouse, printer/fax. Wifi works fine. A/C and fans throughout. With the breeze, we found almost no need for A/C. Washer and dryer. Well stocked with beach towels, beach chairs, some beach toys. A word about us: we own or have owned houses on St. John, USVI, Atlantic beaches on the East Coast of the U. S., and in the mountains. Our standards are quite high for rental properties including our own, and this condo met them completely. For restaurant recommendations, see Tripadvisor -- The Honolua ABC store is nearby and has great breakfast and take-out dinners for your first night/day. Good French food (breakfast or lunch) - La Provence in Kula; special evening: the Hali'imaile General Store. Highly recommended.

Maui Thanksgiving

4 of 5
Rating Details: I was more than satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. I was happy with the location. The vacation rental was spotless. The property manager was very helpful. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Greg Stancil is a great Resident Manager. Very friendly and accomodating. The property was clean and well maintained. We had several family members staying for the week and it was a wonderful place for us all to be together. The only negative side - Our unit backed up to Lower Honoapiilani Road. The street light prevented us from leaving our curtains open at night and the traffic noise was bothersome while trying to sleep. Manager responded on 12/6/2014: Aloha David, Mahalo for your review. Unfortunately some units are affected by the road noise and lights, but you can't argue about the sunset views from those units. It was a pleasure to have all your family here for the Holiday. We hope to see you all again. Mahalo, Su
