Clean and nicely updated, great location!

5 of 5
Great location! Very close to the airport. Easy to find, we had a rental car. Condo managed by hotel, very friendly service. Remember to let condo owner know if checking in after the hotel desk will be closed, we had a slight hiccup but management was more than accommodating to get us into our room. Condo is just as it looked in the photos, very clean. We use it the very nice pool and hot tub every night, we saw caretakers cleaning more than once. There were a lot of beach towels, beach chairs, mats, as well as a handy cooler. Kitchen well-stocked with utensils pots pans plates anything that you could think of meeting for a vacation was there. Grocery stores very close some within walking distance other larger stores short drive. The condor owner was extremely accommodating for us, we had a very late flight going home, and she allowed us to check out late that day around 5:30 PM in order to let us shower before we had to sit on the plane, we were lucky though as no one was checking in the next day which allowed her to do is for us but still very nice. No extra charge! Great restaurant (Hukilau Lanai) just beside this place, it was a little more expensive but amazing food. An excursion planning desk is located just beside the hotel front desk, we found it very helpful as they booked all our excursion for us and we didn't have to use our Canadian phones which would've been extremely expensive. Hotel also has a customer phone that allows local calling for free. We attended the Smith's luau, great experience. We also tried surfing as well as a rafting tour of the Napali coast we highly recommend all of the excursions that we did. For free outings we hiked the Waimea Canyon and checked out as many beaches as we could over the Island, the south end to the north end. All the beaches were beautiful, try to see them all!

A bit of paradise

5 of 5
We thoroughly enjoyed our five night stay at Hanu Hale Kai. Tom and Linda are excellent hosts, quick to provide their guests with invaluable information about Kauai, wonderful stories, books and most of all a welcoming, helpful and friendly spirit. The home was even nicer than the photos. It was clean, well equipped and nicely decorated. The layout was perfect our family. My husband and I stayed upstairs and our adult kids had the downstairs. Location was also a big plus, walking distance to the beach, shopping, restaurants, walking path and centrally located for driving and touring the island. It's best to start out early to see the sites and beat the crowds. Our family was so glad we chose this property rather than a condo or home in a big resort. We felt like we were experiencing the real Hawaii.

Great central location!

4 of 5
We stayed here for our honeymoon and absolutely fell in love with Kauai!!! This unit was good value, well-stocked, and in a great area walkable to many restaurants, Foodland, Safeway, Coconut Marketplace, bike rentals, etc. The ocean is not as close as it appears in photos - it is about a 5 minute walk across a large field and the parking lot is right outside the Lanai, but the sunrises were beautiful! We enjoyed the pools and bbq grills in the common areas. This unit had some nice updates in the bedroom and living room but the bathroom shower is in need of repair. Overall, we were very happy with our stay here and would recommend this property, and Rae was great to deal with. Kapaa was the perfect "home base" for the week to explore the island!
