Paradise found!

5 of 5
What a great place for a relaxing vacation in a beautiful setting! The good news is that the western end of Molokai is stunning, this condo is large & comfortable & well-equipped, and the weather was fine while we were there, just a few showers at night. The online listing highlights the wrap-around lanai (screened porch) which is where we lived the whole time. It's better than the photos. The bad news (maybe) is that this is a remote place, 20 miles or so from the only town. If you're looking for night life and fancy restaurants, this might not be the best choice. We didn't want any of that and just enjoyed the quiet breezes, the singing birds, the active geckos and the wandering wild turkeys. Surf's a bit rough in winter but we found a quiet bay for snorkeling and also hiked to a waterfall for a swim. Enjoy.

Perfect

5 of 5
Condo was absolutely perfect for our group of four. The unit was updated with high end furniture and fixtures and the two bathrooms were especially nice and very clean. The kitchen had everything that you could possibly need to prepare meals and we used it to cook every meal. The lanai had a nice view of the beach and made for a pleasant background when we ate our meals. The beach was a very short walk or an even shorter drive and features very soft sand and no rocks. We watched the sunset there every evening and had the beach all to ourselves. Would highly recommend this unit to anyone visiting Molokai!! The unit was better than advertised and easy to book.

A perfect spot

5 of 5
Every now and then, a place has the perfect combination for the traveler. This place was it for my wife and me. The condo is a one room open-air view of one of the best beach areas in Hawaii. There are plenty of screened windows to open on both sides. The sensation of leaving the door open and feeling constant ocean breeze by itself would put this condo at the top. It's like being on the beach without the sand or the need for sunscreen. The beach is a short hike away (drive down to the front and park if you have lots of stuff to carry). And, oh, what a beach. Dramatic rock formations all along the coast with short pieces of swimmable beach area. For much of the time, we were alone on the beach. The isolated feeling is wonderful. And the condo was one of the best stocked places I've ever been. Snorkeling gear hanging in the closet. Luxury REI folding beach chairs leaning against the wall on the porch. (Oh, and that porch is a good one. Sitting out there was a delight, especially since I could also catch up on e-mail with the wi-fi from next door.) Great bed. We just left the sliding doors to the porch open and enjoyed the night breeze. We even used the kitchen (just to heat up a pizza) but it had everything we needed. We have been to Maui, the Big Island, Kauai and Oahu. The all had amazing pluses and unusual places to stay. Even had great beaches. The North Shore on Oahu in particular has a lot to offer. But, I am telling you here and now that Molokai and this condo put it all together to make for a perfect beach vacation. I realize Molokai is not for everyone (and thank goodness for that). It is isolated. There aren't crowds of tourists. There are few places to eat and no luxury hotels to bring you a fancy mai tai. To get to the place, you have to fly or ferry from one of the other islands. And then you have to rent a car. But, I'm telling you, the payoff is worth it if you don't need a butler, a chef or a massage therapist to make your trip work. We will return. Thank you, Vicki, for a great spot.
