Met all our expectations

4 of 5
We found the cottage to be exactly what we expected- private, with a nice little yard where we were able to eat, 2 comfortable bedrooms , each with a good King bed, 2 clean, functional bathrooms, and a perfectly fine small kitchen, with almost everything we needed to cook many of our meals there. A good sized living/dining room. The cottage is a ground floor brick building, nestled on the property and behind the home of our host, Herman. He is very accommodating and helpful, but certainly respected our privacy and left us alone unless we had a question or request from him. The walk to the beach is along a little corridor created by the tall brick fences of the 2 adjacent large beach side properties that are at the end of the street. The beach is fantastic...clean, quiet, and 2 miles long. We loved the water, with excellent boogey boarding. Staying in Kailua is a world apart form the hustle and bustle and tourist craziness of Waikiki...we loved being there, and exploring other parts of Oahu with our rental car.

Always Our First Choice

5 of 5
We are frequent visitors to Hawaii and to Kailua in particular. This was our fourth stay at Koi Palms so obviously we love it. It is perfect for a couple, immaculately clean, well appointed (even toothpicks) and conveniently located in a great residential neighborhood. Two and a half blocks to wonderful Kailua Beach and a walkable distance to Kailua Town. Tricia and Eric are there if you need them, but the cottage, with its own entry, lanai and lush tropical plants surrounding the unit provides privacy too. We will definitely "hana hou" (do it again) in the future.

Quiet, Relaxing and Convenient

5 of 5
Victoria's rental unit is clean, new, and well-appointed. It's located in a quiet suburban neighborhood with plenty of privacy. Safeway, McDonald's, Starbucks, L&L, Subway, and The Shack (a sports bar) are only a 10-minute walk from the rental. One of the trailheads for the Pillboxes (Ka'iwa Ridge) Trail is only about a 15-minute walk away. The rental also has convenient access to the Kalanianaole Highway (Hawaii 72), which takes you anywhere you want to go on Oahu. The unit itself is very inviting and comfortable. Due to its location and the direction it faces, it doesn't get a whole lot of breeze, but running the powerful A/C for a short time makes up for that. I also liked having the propane barbecue grill to cook dinner to help save on food expenses. This is a great unit for those looking for a quiet, relaxing place to retire to in the evening after spending the day exploring Oahu. Victoria is very warm and welcoming, but also respects her tenant's privacy. I would certainly recommend this property to friends and relatives.
