Perfect cottage and hostess

5 of 5
Victoria is the most loveable hostess that you could every ask for!!! The cottage is new, clean and has more amenities than expected. Fresh fruit, coffee and tea are waiting for you upon arrival. The patio faces east so having coffee as the sun comes up and cocktails in the shade in the afternoon makes for a perfect location. Off street covered parking in nice. You MUST invite Victoria for dinner during your stay. She will tell you about the island and her stories will keep you in stiches. It is located in a quiet neighborhood and only minutes from the beach and about 15 minutes to downtown. Within walking distance is everything you need. Be sure to visit the Shack during your stay, great little local pub with great food and within walking distance so not DD is required. We just can say enough good things about this property and owner. She has bogey boards, beach chairs, beach mats, beach towels and a cooler for guests to use. Make sure to ask her if she has any homemade salsa, WOW! We will use this cottage again in the future.

Wonderful Place

5 of 5
We stayed in April 2013 and the place was wonderful. It was spotlessly clean and the layout was great. It is located on a quiet street a few blocks from the beach. Kailua has many properties right on the beach that limit access but there is a passage to the beach between houses that makes it easy to get there. Tricia was a very helpful host, and met us soon after we arrived. She helped us with suggestions as to what to see in the area. The property has very good ventilation, with nice breezes and provides lots of amenities. There are two good induction hotplates instead of a stove but they worked well, we did lots of cooking. The kitchen was well equipped and Tricia left us some local fruits and snacks before we checked in. It is an easy walk to shopping and restaurants also. I would recommend this place to anyone who wants a much more laid back experience than Honolulu provides.

Met all our expectations

4 of 5
We found the cottage to be exactly what we expected- private, with a nice little yard where we were able to eat, 2 comfortable bedrooms , each with a good King bed, 2 clean, functional bathrooms, and a perfectly fine small kitchen, with almost everything we needed to cook many of our meals there. A good sized living/dining room. The cottage is a ground floor brick building, nestled on the property and behind the home of our host, Herman. He is very accommodating and helpful, but certainly respected our privacy and left us alone unless we had a question or request from him. The walk to the beach is along a little corridor created by the tall brick fences of the 2 adjacent large beach side properties that are at the end of the street. The beach is fantastic...clean, quiet, and 2 miles long. We loved the water, with excellent boogey boarding. Staying in Kailua is a world apart form the hustle and bustle and tourist craziness of Waikiki...we loved being there, and exploring other parts of Oahu with our rental car.
