We recently stayed at Kahana Nui with a group of 4 families with small children. The booking and check-in process was very smooth. The house was very clean and well-stocked when we arrived. This is a gorgeous villa--beautiful carved wood furniture and doors, 4 out of 6 bedrooms look out upon the ocean, two large lanais with comfortable seating. The pool and hot tub were great (very clean) and the beach was just steps away. There are pool and sand toys, beach shoes, beach towels provided which was great. The beach just in front of the house is a bit rocky but if you walk a short distance around a bend there is softer, sandier beach. Perfect for kids.
I'm only giving 4 stars because some of the appliances in the villa need to be upgraded or fixed. While we were there the oven broke and intermittently the range would not light. The washing machine would get stuck sometimes mid-cycle. The dishwasher was falling out of its mounting under the counter. and the BBQ, though it worked, has to be lit by hand and blows out easily in the wind. However, the owner was very responsive to our calls; she sent a repairman out to fix the oven which got it going for our stay, and even offered to buy us take-out food to make up for it. She assured me she was going to be looking into the other appliance issues after we left. Assuming these things are fixed, we would definitely stay at Kahana Nui again--it's a beautiful home in a gorgeous, peaceful setting.
