We rented the exquisite Kahana Nui for an extended family vacation and to celebrate a significant birthday. It is worth every penny to stay here. The home is as lovely as the photos.
There were 11 of us, and the villa worked out perfectly, with the 4 oceanfront master suites plus the 2 kid bedrooms. Two wonderful decks wrap around the whole house, and we were on these decks all the time, if we weren't in the lovely pool, enjoying a game of ping pong or just absorbing the spectacular view and listening to the sound of the surf. Once you have your groceries, you never have to leave. You have the best view on Maui looking out at Molokai, and as the sun sets in the evening, it is truly magical. We dined on the deck every night and didn't want to go anywhere else. The kitchen is very well equipped with everything any cook could want. There is a fairly good supply of kitchen staples - spices, oils, vinegars, flour, tin foil, plastic wrap, coffee filters. Plus there are 2 refrigerators. Several take out places are close by if you prefer not to cook. The place is a kids paradise. Our 3 grandchildren were in the pool all the time. There is a closet full of pool, beach, and sand toys, including 8 boogie boards, snorkeling equipment, beach shoes, and beach mats. There are also at least 12 beach towels. The beach by the villa has a lot of black lava rocks, not good for swimming. Around the corner from the house is a better beach. Inside there is a good music system, TV's in all the master suites, a 52" TV on the upper level, and lots of puzzles and games. The owners are easy to deal with and attentive to any questions or problems. They have truly thought of everything to give their guests a fabulous holiday full of wonderful memories. We loved our week and hope to return someday.
