Palace in paradise

5 of 5
We stayed in this house for almost two weeks in Feb, 2015 and we couldn't be happier. We were initially a bit hesitant in our housing search as the house has only recently been rented out and there weren't too many reviews, but our fears were completely unfounded. It was our big family reunion. There were five families from the East Coast USA and Korea, a total of 16 people (10 adults, 6 kids). The house instantly impressed when we walked in to the amazing views available throughout many angles. The house is big enough that we didn't feel crammed with five separate families. It provides enough personal space, but at the same time, it has many good spots for gathering. A large dining/living room, kitchen, swimming pool, and the pavilion was perfect to create some memorable family moments. The house is also located in a really nice residential area and is close to many touristic spots and stores and restaurants. We went to Costco (10min away) multiple times to feed the big group and enjoyed ice cream shops, bakeries, and restaurants nearby. Hanauma bay (best snorkeling spot in Oahu) is only a 5min drive away, which was super convenient since traffic can be quite bad. You can also easily go to Honolulu to go to Waikiki beach or Pearl Harbor (30-40min drive) without having to stay in a crowded hotel zone. The owner Milan is extremely nice and friendly. He is very responsive and is readily available. He is constantly maintaining the house to keep it ready for visitors. Thanks Milan for a wonderful and memorable vacation stay at your house!

Not as impressed as in previous years

4 of 5
Rating Details: I was satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. I was very happy with the location. The vacation rental was clean. The property manager was more than helpful. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Couldn't get hold of the phone number to get us in had to phone the management company to get the code to get into the unit. cabinets in the kitchen falling apart and the bathroom door is coming apart as well. the chairs in the living room need to be cleaned. Location is great.

Exceptional place to stay

5 of 5
This was my second VRBO rental in Honolulu and this was a great stay. In previous years I had stayed at the Marriott and Hilton immediately adjacent to this property and I easily enjoyed this stay more because of the conveniences and savings vs the name brand charge you for everything places. When I arrived the place was spotless and a great little welcome basket was waiting, thank you it was delicious. The separate bedroom gives you so much room so you can relax on the comfortable couch (took a couple naps there) and chair. The TV and surround sound bar were great to watch shows with. Use of the kitchen facilities was such a luxury, again vs the name brand charge you for everything places. There is a convenience store in the lobby with lots of items. The cooking utensils and such are plentiful for any type cooking you endeavor in and has a full size fridge. Parking was very convenient and being included I wasn't tipping the valet for each time I wanted to go somewhere (security was super nice). Diamond Head is 5 minutes away and access to the H1 is easy and will take you over to Pearl Harbor or whatever out of town destination. H1 can get congested, so time your travel around rush hour if possible. Getting around Waikiki is very easy from this location, I recommend walking because once you try to park elsewhere its not easy to do unless in a pay garage. It'll take the same amount of time, perhaps less, walking and saves you the aggravation. A local recommendation is the Rainbow Drive-in (as seen on Diners, Dives and Drive-in's) that is about a 1/2 mile away and the food is all that. I was there a number of times, love the Loco Moco and they are open for breakfast. Nico's is recommended also, super fresh fish, its about 6 miles down to the Pier. There is a UPS store just down from the Rainbow drive-in where you can ship back your purchases so you don't have to lug them back on the plane. This condo was such a nice place to stay I will definitely make it tops on my list for consideration when I return. Thanks so much!
