5 Stars Is Not Enough

5 of 5
This is going to be a rave review, just want to warn you right from the start! If you are looking for hospitality, comfort, luxury, affordability and accessibility than look no further. Our family of 6 enjoyed such a fantastic week staying here toward the end of March 2015. Susan and Walt have a beautiful vacation home and we are so grateful that they decided to share it and not move in permanently themselves, (which is what we would have done.) From the stunning ocean views, to the wonderful decorating lines, the most comfortable beds and best walk-in showers ever, we just were blown away every day. The Big Island is the most visually stunning and our favorite place that we have traveled to, thus far. If you are trying to decide between islands, this is a winner. We highly recommend taking a day to visit the green and black sand beaches. They are amazing to see. Have you ever been off-roading with your parents? You should try it for a hilariously bone jostling, but extremely enjoyable time! It's an experience not to be missed! We also enjoyed fabulous dining from the Lava Java Cafe in town, to the exquisite Four Seasons dinner at sunset. The little beaches along the roadside are not always marked well but are such a treat. Susan was so kind with her availability and gave us directions on how to find these little gems. Every beach is unique and quite possibly, more amazing than the last one you visit. Our family believes in and is privileged to have personal relationships with The Great Creator, the Lord Jesus. The Gospels state, "What manner of Man is this, that the winds and waves obey Him? God created everything through Him, all things were made by Him; and without Him was not any thing made that was made." We certainly experienced that and were awed by His presence and beauty on this island and look forward to returning in the near future! Mahalo Susan and Walt!

Perfect location, tranquil, and lovely.

5 of 5
This home was incredibly lovely! The rooms are all painted with gorgeous tropical colors, inviting you to relax and just enjoy the beauty. The bedrooms' white curtains float softly in the breeze that wafts in through vented windows. There are even gentle wind chimes making a peaceful background sound. The grounds were equally wonderful and spacious, with lush foliage. The house is a good distance away from any neighbors, providing a nice sense of privacy. The distance also gave the house a perfect climate, just far enough away from the ocean to still be warm, but not too hot or cold, making for pleasant evenings too. An added bonus was the panoramic ocean view from the lanai. We enjoyed the swimming pool so much! It was clean with a huge deck. The days were warm enough so that a dip in the pool was an extra bonus. Our entire stay in Patricia's home was absolutely perfect. When my family returns, we would truly feel fortunate if we were able to stay in this serene, idyllic home again. Thank you Pat for making our time on the big island so special.

Can't get any closer to the ocean

5 of 5
This house is big, bright and open with floor to ceiling French windows . The sound of crashing waves reverberates throughout everywhere in the house. There are fantastic ocean views from every room and you can watch whales and tropical fish right from your lanai. It is very close to Kona but just a little far to be totally walkable with kids and a senior in our party.
