A little piece of Paradise!!

5 of 5
We recently spent 10 days in this gorgeous vacation home. The property is spotless and has every possible amenity you can think of. The grounds are amazing and the view from the front of the property and from the lanai were breathtaking. It was so quiet and peaceful. Having the washer and dryer right there was very convenient. Bavesh called to make sure we arrived safely and that the property was in order as well as calling at the end of the vacation to thank us and ask if there was anything that could be improved. This was our first trip to the Big Island and I am so glad we chose this beautiful property instead of a busy resort. Loved every moment of our stay!! Thank you.

Great view and perfect Kona location

5 of 5
We were on the big island for three weeks and Kope Cottage was by far the best place we stayed! The view is fabulous and the house is very comfortable for a long stay, and it was fun staying on a coffee-producing estate. The house is located on a quiet corner of the property, is very comfortable with new kitchen and bath. Coming and going is very easy. Probably the thing I liked best about it was the view and ambiance sitting on the lanai. Situated on the hill above town, you have the yard, the trees and coffee plants below, a view of the hillside down to Kona and the wide Pacific and sky. With Kona's weather we saw dark storms mix with bright sunlight, and then brilliant sunsets. The property has a big pool, a hot tub, and a really great work-out room. It's also a great opportunity to have a glimpse into the coffee industry. We watched the owners roast some coffee on their vintage roaster and they explained how the rain, sun and volcanic soil make Kona's coffee sought-after. The cottage is equipped with a top-shelf coffee maker, grinder and some of the estate's coffee so you can try the first morning you're there. The house is a short drive ( say 15 min ) from town, and about that distance to several great beaches like beach 69. We had to be up early most mornings and a highlight of the stay was having coffee during the sunrise. We enjoyed watching some birds hang from and eat papayas on a tree nearby and there was a very bold cardinal signing every morning too. Don't miss this one, Randy and Atsumi are great hosts, and it's one of the best VRBOs you will find.

5 Stars Is Not Enough

5 of 5
This is going to be a rave review, just want to warn you right from the start! If you are looking for hospitality, comfort, luxury, affordability and accessibility than look no further. Our family of 6 enjoyed such a fantastic week staying here toward the end of March 2015. Susan and Walt have a beautiful vacation home and we are so grateful that they decided to share it and not move in permanently themselves, (which is what we would have done.) From the stunning ocean views, to the wonderful decorating lines, the most comfortable beds and best walk-in showers ever, we just were blown away every day. The Big Island is the most visually stunning and our favorite place that we have traveled to, thus far. If you are trying to decide between islands, this is a winner. We highly recommend taking a day to visit the green and black sand beaches. They are amazing to see. Have you ever been off-roading with your parents? You should try it for a hilariously bone jostling, but extremely enjoyable time! It's an experience not to be missed! We also enjoyed fabulous dining from the Lava Java Cafe in town, to the exquisite Four Seasons dinner at sunset. The little beaches along the roadside are not always marked well but are such a treat. Susan was so kind with her availability and gave us directions on how to find these little gems. Every beach is unique and quite possibly, more amazing than the last one you visit. Our family believes in and is privileged to have personal relationships with The Great Creator, the Lord Jesus. The Gospels state, "What manner of Man is this, that the winds and waves obey Him? God created everything through Him, all things were made by Him; and without Him was not any thing made that was made." We certainly experienced that and were awed by His presence and beauty on this island and look forward to returning in the near future! Mahalo Susan and Walt!
