5 Stars Is Not Enough

5 of 5
This is going to be a rave review, just want to warn you right from the start! If you are looking for hospitality, comfort, luxury, affordability and accessibility than look no further. Our family of 6 enjoyed such a fantastic week staying here toward the end of March 2015. Susan and Walt have a beautiful vacation home and we are so grateful that they decided to share it and not move in permanently themselves, (which is what we would have done.) From the stunning ocean views, to the wonderful decorating lines, the most comfortable beds and best walk-in showers ever, we just were blown away every day. The Big Island is the most visually stunning and our favorite place that we have traveled to, thus far. If you are trying to decide between islands, this is a winner. We highly recommend taking a day to visit the green and black sand beaches. They are amazing to see. Have you ever been off-roading with your parents? You should try it for a hilariously bone jostling, but extremely enjoyable time! It's an experience not to be missed! We also enjoyed fabulous dining from the Lava Java Cafe in town, to the exquisite Four Seasons dinner at sunset. The little beaches along the roadside are not always marked well but are such a treat. Susan was so kind with her availability and gave us directions on how to find these little gems. Every beach is unique and quite possibly, more amazing than the last one you visit. Our family believes in and is privileged to have personal relationships with The Great Creator, the Lord Jesus. The Gospels state, "What manner of Man is this, that the winds and waves obey Him? God created everything through Him, all things were made by Him; and without Him was not any thing made that was made." We certainly experienced that and were awed by His presence and beauty on this island and look forward to returning in the near future! Mahalo Susan and Walt!

The perfect Hawaii home for your Kona vacation!

5 of 5
We had two families, 4 adults and 4 children, stay at this amazing home over Easter 2015. We spent 7 fabulous days relaxing, swimming in the pool, and enjoying the beautiful lanai with it's amazing view of the ocean. The home was super clean and well stocked with everything you need for a week in Hawaii. We especially loved all of the beach supplies - boogie boards, chairs, umbrellas, snorkel equipment, it was all there! There were more than enough towels and sheets for both of our families. The washer and two dryers came in handy throughout the week, and all worked perfectly. The home has central air, and if you have ever stayed in a home on the islands before, you know how rare it is to find a home that has this. In addition, there are ceiling fans or portable fans for each room. This kept us very comfortable throughout the week. The house has two outdoor grills, and a huge kitchen that is fully stocked with every type of dish and cooking utensil to make you feel right at home. Check the pantry before you shop, it was well stocked and we actually bought duplicates of things that we didn't know would be there. You won't be disappointed, this home is spacious and well laid out for large groups. The pool was a HUGE hit with the kids, they swam every morning and evening. The home is close to popular Ali'i Drive, only about a 3-4 minute drive away down through the residential neighborhood. Definitely learn your way down to the main drag through the residential streets, and save yourself from the traffic of the highway. It's also centrally located to any shopping you may need to do - Walmart, Safeway, Target, Costco, and more. There is a beautiful church right down the street on Ali'i Drive called Living Stones Church that has the most amazing spot behind it for viewing the sunset. We drove down many nights to sit on the rocks and watch the sun go down. Be sure to try TJ's BBQ by the Beach in the Ali'i Marketplace for some amazing BBQ, it was excellent and we ate there more than once. Huggo's Restaurant is great for drinks and live music by the water. If you want to learn to surf, we highly recommend Kona Mike's - super nice owner and awesome instructors. Bruce was prompt and friendly while making our reservation, and had his property manager meet us when we arrived, even though our flight came in at almost 11 pm. It was so nice to have someone open the house for us and give us the keys after a long day of travel. I really could go on and o

LOVED the house!!!

5 of 5
we were VERY happy/bhavesh's attentiveness to us(he wrote us before we arrived & the evening we flew in to make sure all was well). the 3 bd/2ba worked really great for the 5 of us & our granddaughter LOVED the pool!!! bhavesh' staff were super & very friendly. as well, it's location was great---easy to downtown, groceries(not far from safeway & Costco), etc. we would, DEFINTELY, recommend this home to others. while we were there we did a bodyglove whalewatch(GREAT staff), went on the glassbottom boat(another GREAT staff), went to a luau at the royal kona resort, ate at longboard legends pizza(DE-lish!!!), bubba gumps, & had a quick supper at Patricio's Mexican taqueria(also good). we did daytrips to volcano Nat'l park stopping in na'alehu at punalu'u bake shop for some yummy portugese baked goods & also went to waimea for part of a day to visit the parker ranch. it was a GREAT vacation & our excellent accomodations was a huge part of that. except for 1 rainy day the weather was sunny/partly sunny. LOVED, LOVED, LOVED it all!!!! k & g & family, oregon
