Breathtaking!

5 of 5
This home is amazing. Beautiful to behold and stay in, almost difficult to leave to explore the island! Very close to Hawi town and it's sweet shops and restaurants, but felt secluded and private. We enjoyed every minute of our stay and recommend it to anyone and everyone!

The highlight of our Hawaiian vacation!

5 of 5
We met our friends here at Nani and Don's and enjoyed the very best of Hawaii. Comfortable fully equipped accommodation, a yard full of breakfast fruits to be enjoyed daily, the excitement of the nearby birth of an endangered Monk Seal (and our daily walk to check it's progress), spectacular vistas of the north coast, quaint and cute local small towns, and most of all the chance to see the history of old Hawaii through Nani's invitation. We were very lucky and pleased. You need a car, but it is worth it!

North Kohala retreat

4 of 5
We loved staying at Nani's Hawai'ian style Kohala Guest House. So glad a friend suggested it. Very reasonable with a full kitchen, 2 baths and a choice of renting 1, 2 or 3 bedrooms. A short drive to Pololu Valley, and you can walk or drive down to Keokea Beach Park (where a baby monk seal and mother were in residence). Wonderful to wake up to birds cooing, and have coffee on the lanai overlooking the lawn, flowers and fruit trees. A few minutes drive to Kapa'au/Hawi for groceries or dinner at a choice of restaurants. Nani also made beautiful leis for us to take to a special event we were attending in the area. > > Mahalo nui and look forward to returning for a future visit. > > Sandra Stamos
