Loved it!

4 of 5
We had 3 adults & 2 children & had plenty of room. There was not much of a beach at the house when we were there so we didn't get to spend the amount of time lounging on our "almost private beach" as we had planned. The house was suprisingly clean. We travel a lot and have stayed in some pretty scary places. But we felt right at home here with no need to wipe things down before my kids started touching everything. The beds were very comfortable. The King size bed had a very thick foam pad on top which I really liked. It was extremly hot & humid while we were there & with no a/c it could get pretty uncomfortable. But there are 5 ceiling fans and 2 floor fans which helped a lot. Most of the time there was a really nice ocean breeze. However when 2 hurricane's decide to vacation in Hawaii at the same time as you do all winds stop. But after they were out of the area the winds started up again. Deb was great thru both hurricanes. She called to make sure we were aware and updated on the storms and gave us her advice and opinions on what to do as we were nervous nelly's due to the fact that we are from Ohio and basicly live in the middle of a corn field (as most Ohioans do) so the ocean during a hurricane can be quite intimidating. I loved having a washer and dryer. We were able to pack lighter and do laundry a couple of times which left more room to take home souvenirs. The location of the house ended up being a little too far north for us. We ended up spending a lot more time on the southern part of the island than we thot we would. But this in part was due to the fact that it was our 1st time there so we had to do all the "touristy" things and that we have friends that live in Honolulu that we went to visit several times. Ended up spending a lot more time in the car than we expected. & with a 3 & 7 year old it made our days a lot longer than we would have liked. It was pretty noisy most of the time due to the Kam Highway directly in front of the house, the ocean roaring behind it and 7 fans running all the time. But we got used to it after awhile. All in all we had a great time at this house. I would definitely recommend it. Thanks Deb for being so accommidating. We really enjoyed our time on Oahu. And since the hurricanes may or may not have been our fault since bad weather seems to follow us I will be sure to let you know where we will be vacationing in the future so u can plan accordingly. Beautiful cottage that has everything!

5 of 5
My wife, a friend, and I attended a wedding in North Shore and had to find a place quick. We were lucky to find Dianne and even luckier that she was willing to adjust her own vacation schedule to assist our needs. We were amazed at everything that this gorgeous cottage had to offer: snorkel equipment, golf clubs (decent ones too), comfortable beds, and much more! Dianne was great to work with, which is rare. Dock player for your own music worked great; we left an auxiliary cable for future guests who have iphone 5's. Beautifully decorated and great surrounding neighbors - we even had a neighbor bring us fresh coconuts that we enjoyed! Great fishing and snorkeling right across the road too! We hope to make our way back soon!

True home away from home

5 of 5
Being first time visitors to Hawaii we weren't sure what to expect given that this house is so far away from the airport, tourist attractions, etc. But it actually turned out to be a true blessing! The house is in the heart of the "country" and away from the big city lights and FAR away from all the traffic of Honolulu. The views of the mountains are breath-taking, and having the beach a mere feet away from the back-porch was incredible! Previous reviews talk about "being next to the highway" but really, it's a 2 lane road and the speed limit is 35mph, so it's not any different than the streets I'm sure most of us live on here on the main land. And we had no problem with the distance to Honolulu or any other parts of the island you may visit; everything seems to be within an hour drive and the views of the mountains and beaches along the way really help pass the time! There are many local restaurants! Being foodies, we had to try it all and we were very impressed by every place we tried! And there is a grocery store just a few miles down the road that made cooking at home very convenient. At first we were surprised that there wasn't air conditioning in the house but we eventually acclimated to the humidity and came to enjoy the fresh air from leaving all the doors and windows open. There was a constant cool breeze the entire week we were there, so I'm guessing that's normal. Debbie (the landlord) was very friendly and easy to work with. She really helped to make the reservation process and payment transaction as smooth as possible. We highly recommend this place, and will definitely be staying here the next time we decide to visit this island!
