Exceeded our expectations

5 of 5
The rental was spacious, private, very comfortable and well-stocked with far more amenities than we expected. We especially liked all the books on the history of the Hamakua Coast, which gave us a special perspective on the region as well as the history of the property itself. When booking, we somehow missed the fact that the rental also includes exclusive use of a large wooden hot tub and outdoor shower, which was a pleasant surprise. We enjoyed taking walks on the upcountry roads amid the lush green forest. The owners were very kind and accommodating, and the kitties who live on the farm are soooo sweet. Our son enjoyed feeding leftovers to the pig! Lots of fun!

Beautiful and Peaceful Location!

5 of 5
A large, clean, and very comfortable home.. fully equipped kitchen and all the amenities you could want...including WIFI and heated towel racks!!! The owners are very kind and will make sure you have fresh coffee, tea and even honey produced on the property. And if you are interested in nature and the passing art of beekeeping, you will want to stay here and take a tour. I have stayed in 4 different locations over the years in Honokaa, and this was a keeper!

Wonderful, relaxing, private place to stay.

5 of 5
My husband, 6 year old daughter and I, stayed in this cabin for almost four months while we built our own home here on the island. I can't even begin to say how much we enjoyed our stay here. As far as the property goes, it is so private you could walk around outside in your underwear, there's not a single person around. It's very peaceful. Paauilo is a very nice place to stay if you want to get away from noise and the hustle and bustle of more touristy areas at the end of the day. You are only a short drive to great beaches south of Kawaihae, and excellent dining in Waimea. The cabin is adorable and very well maintained with a great floor plan. The owners are extremely helpful on giving information on things to do and are very nice. My daughter spent a lot of time down on their property gardening and feeding chickens with them. My husband and I stayed at another rental in paauilo on our honeymoon a year ago and I can't even say how nice it is to hang out at the beach, go out for dinner, and then drive home to a private retreat like this. I would recommend staying here to anyone who loves the outdoors, beautiful country views, and privacy.
