This place was great. Very clean and centrally located. We were close enough to Haleakala N.P. to see the sunset and return the next morning for sunrise. We were able to explore the early parts of the Road to Hana before heading to Hana for the next part of our journey. We were close to Paia and Baldwin Beach. It was a pleasure meeting Cheryl and she went out of her way to make sure we enjoyed our stay. The place is rural and you do hear roosters in the morning when you go outside. But that just added to the "get-away-from-it-all" feeling. And we didn't hear them when we were inside. We really appreciated the fans, ice maker, and nice shower. And our daughter enjoyed making fruit smoothies with the blender. Our family of six slept comfortably and we highly recommend this location if you want to get away from it all. We could not have asked for a better location to commence our Hawaiian vacation.

We had stayed for a week in the central area and really hated leaving there but when we saw the Bamboo Valley Inn we were so delighted. We had an amazing stay. It was absolutely beautiful from the moment we drove down the driveway. Surrounded by a lush tropical forest, it made you feel you were really in Maui's rainforest! Although it only seemed to rain for about 5 minutes in the morning or evening. The birds were chirping all around, and it was fun watching Hank in the field with the chickens. The grounds and property were beautifully kept. Our nine year old loved the air hockey table! The pictures are totally accurate, as you walk in you just look around and say Wow! The apartment we had was equiped with everything we needed, beautifully decorated and furnished, local artwork on the walls, lovely fresh flowers to greet us and a great selection of treats for breakfast. The owners were just a call away if needed but totally respected your privacy. We travelled to see Haleakala's sunrise and the Hana highway from here, did some hikes, visited Paia, toured around the north shore area, saw a monk seal, watched windsurfers as well as traveled to the west and south coast for beaching and snorkeling. It is well situated to travel anywhere on Maui, especially if you don't want to stay in a busy, touristy resort type of accomodation and want to listen to the birds. We highly recommend the Bamboo Valley Inn and would love to stay here on our next visit to Maui.
