                                Beach fun

                                4 of 5
This is a wonderful place to stay. Owner is very helpful and willing to do what he can to make your stay comfortable. Description was close to accurate to pictures except there is not a tv upstairs, very clean, close to play structure/park for kids. Would stay here again. Grocery store(s) within 1-2 miles, depending on what you want, ie Longs Drugs, Safeway. Also, beach is very close and was fun, especially for our 2 and 4 year old girls.

                                HAWAIIAN LULLABY (PETER MOON BAND)

                                5 of 5
You know it's been a week since leaving our island home of Hawaii and it took me some time to decide what to say in my review. I, myself hadn’t been home in 7 years. My keikis and I wanted to take a kick back do nothing vacation and I wanted somewhere on the dry side of Oahu. Well, Ewa Beach it was, this Ewa Beach home was the old local style that we grew up in the Moanalua Gardens area. All the childhood memories came back to us the minute we drove down the street, open the gate and walked into the house. Our eyes were filled with happiness. The geckos, mynah birds, waves crashing to the beach, the humidity, the sunrise and sunset, the view of the Honolulu city lights, the ono local food and the local people – all brought memories of growing up in a one of kind place. Prior to making the trip home, I had been talking to Darla and her warm aloha voice was so nice to hear and she was very helpful as well. Also, I briefly talked to Connie and her welcoming voice made the drive to the Ewa beach house so much enjoyable. We felt the warm ohana feeling. The house was the typical single wall (wooden) type and wooden floors were nice to walk on with no carpet. This house has a lot of room to move around and the view from the lanai, speechless. We left windows open and waking up in the morning to hear birds singing, wave crashing and the trade winds blowing was so comforting and nice to even fall asleep too. The available beach furniture, beach gear and even the old cooler to wash your sandy feet in was, so Akamai. The house had everything you needed – it was kind of like a home away from home. Oh by the way, on our second morning a Hawaiian monk seal came ashore and slept awhile and eventually woke up and swam away. Now, for those of you that aren’t aware, it is illegal to touch a Hawaiian monk seal or a Hawaiian sea turtle. We stayed for 9 days and my keikis want to come back to this Ewa Beach house. So, plans are currently in the works to stay longer next time. I wanted give a big ALOHA to, Connie and Rachel for allowing us to visit / stay in their wonderful island home (maybe I will buy it – someday and move back home). Also, another big ALOHA to, Darla for talking story with me and suggesting “Pearl’s Korean BBQ” so ono. ALOHA & MAHALO

Paradise! A Home away from home!

                                5 of 5
This home and its owners truly represent the Aloha spirit of Hawaii. A peaceful oasis. A home away from home for our family! Pictures do not capture the convenience and comfortableness of this home as well as the beauty that surrounds it. From the well maintained exterior, to the lush green yard, to the large open floor plan this home offers a taste of indulgence for those who need a quiet retreat. It did for us. We enjoyed most of our meals on the beachfront covered large lanai. The balmy breezes and the ocean sounds were a welcomed accompaniment to all of our meals. The family room completely opens up to the lanai and beachfront with 4 doors that disappear into the walls. Neat feature! We enjoyed the family time while preparing meals in the fully stocked kitchen and open living area. The bedrooms were all roomy, especially for Hawaii. The downstairs full bathroom and 2 bedrooms were a nice feature to have for my mom. The master bedroom has large windows with views of the beach from every angle. We enjoyed going to sleep to the ocean breeze and the gentle waves. The master bed has 2 remotes with inclining head/feet as well as a massage function. It worked great for putting our little ones to sleep. The AC units are very quiet and cool the home well when needed. Every room has an AC unit. The home was well maintained, updated, and very clean with new linens and towels. The beach literally is the back yard! Having the beach so easily accessible was a tremendous convenience for us with 2 little ones in diapers. We would go out to the beach several times a day. The outdoor heated shower was super convenient for washing sandy bottoms and sandy feet as well. During our stay, one of the local schools held a Hawaiian chorus concert on one Friday evening. There was something enchanting about hearing the children singing in Hawaiian in the distance with the sounds of the ocean as background. Thank you Terry and Lina for sharing your amazing home with us in June! We are truly blessed to have been able to enjoy your home and to meet you both. You are amazing people and your home reflects it. Many Mahalos!
