Would stay here again!

5 of 5
House was great, exactly as expected from description (which I've found isn't always the case on VRBO listings), and clean. Great location away from town, but close enough to do everything you want. GREAT scuba diving at the beach below (but can be a tricky entry & exit if you are not used to rougher conditions). Good location for south point and the volcano, but easy to get up to Kohola coast as well. Great communication from owners & caretakers. The few minor problems we had were taken care of very quickly. This house was perfect for our family vacation!

Aloha!

5 of 5
Aloha! It has been a fabulous week here with friends. Got my snorkel legs back on, thanks to lots of help at Hookena Beach. The kayak ride allowed me to see the lava tubes/vent holes on the cliffs there. A local man (with a beard that would make Santa's seem quite small) makes brooms (called a tete) made from the spines of Palm leaves that are on the beach. He sweeps the walks and lava rock walls every morning. The house geckos are sorry to see us leave, as we spoiled them with fresh papaya every morning. What a terrific, relaxing way to get a real feel of Hawaii island life!! Mahalo and Aloha - until the next time we meet!

Fabulous Experience!

5 of 5
We really enjoyed our stay in South Kona. It was remote enough to feel away from it all but still close to all we wanted to do. The beach at the end of the street was awesome as well. The house was perfect for our family of 6 adults and 1 child. Everyone fell in love with the outdoor showers! My niece was excited to have her own room- a day bed in the den-and the kitchen was stocked with everything you could ask for. Thanks to Melinda and Cheryl for making us feel so welcome!
