What a surprise when we walked into the home. Everything is as nice or nicer then in the description and pictures. The owners are extremely friendly and accommodating. I would recommend this rental to anyone looking for the Kona vacation experience. The snorkeling at Hookena is amazing. The wild turkeys in the yard, and cattle roaming the street! We will be back!

Conveniently remote with Great Views

4 of 5
The View was a pictured...and better. Great view of Sunsets and comfort of home atmosphere. The home was conveniently remote from traffic and centrally located on the Island for trips to Kohala District and Hilo, yet close to Kona area. The home was clean and there were no maintenance issues. Constant updates and contact by the property manager (Melinda) was reassuring from the moment we considered the rental and was a decisive factor in our choice. This property receives my endorsement for anyone who is looking for a larger home rental on the Big Island. Professionally managed and a homeowner that maintains the property is a great starting point. The views at any time of the day from the living room and deck are an added plus. If you plan on short day activities or staying in and enjoying an evening for dinner and a great sunset. This is it. Thanks for a great stay. This was a good choice for us.

An amazing experience!

5 of 5
For what we were looking for, the Kona Cabin was perfect in every way. We booked this trip earlier this year and every time work got crazy, I looked at the link here on VRBO dreaming of the 12 days when we could be there. Well, the actual experience was even better than what we had envisioned. It was a morphing of all the things we love--healthy food, wildlife, dogs, cats, art and the ocean. The Kona Cabin was comfortable and we saved a ton of money, because Jeffrey and Heide provided all of the snorkeling gear and beach chairs and their kitchen was stocked with spices, utensils, coffee maker, blender, etc. They have a nice selection of DVDs and music CDs and WiFi, which was nice. It’s a semi-rustic experience and if you’re into the luxury of a hotel where they clean your room every day, this may not be a great match for you. But, if you’re looking for a great Island experience that makes you feel like you’re in the jungle, this is it! Huge avocadoes, a plethora of exotic fruits, macadamia nuts you can pick right outside your door and crack them in the kitchen; our hosts’ 3 dogs, their chickens, sheep and assorted wildlife. And if you’re a decent table tennis player, please stay with them, because we provided little competition for Jeffrey, although he’s a great teacher. Heidi is an exceptional artist and they both have incredible souls. Meeting them made the whole thing complete!
