Rain Forest Hideaway!

5 of 5
We absolutely loved our stay here. The cabin is sparkling clean. For us, it was 4 nights of rain forest heaven, only 5 minutes away from the entrance to Volcano National Park. We awoke to sunshine and the songs of rain forest birds. Hubby went nuts with his camera and binoculars. The cabin just feels so secluded and private. There's a covered patio outside the front door with a nice bench for taking off your shoes before entering the cabin. If it's raining when you're there, you'll really appreciate this. The full-sized kitchen is a dream for the do-it-yourself vacationer (excepting the knives, which needed sharpening). We enjoyed the comfy king-sized bed and the gas-log fireplace. The water supply here is filtered rain catchment, so we were encourage to conserve water as best we could. There is no garbage disposal, so one must be very careful not to put solids down the kitchen sink drain. We looked for, but didn't find any recycling system, so all our garbage went unsorted into a single bin. Perhaps the town of Volcano doesn't do recycling yet. The owner here has given such careful attention to comfort and convenience that it seems the visitor never lacks for anything. We wholeheartedly recommend this place!

Peaceful stay in Hawi

Pleasant hideaway nr village. Muted colors and natural finishes assist in soothing atmosphere. Good lanai and barbecue backyard with fruit trees.

Peaceful, and away from all the hussle and bustle

5 of 5
A nice change from Kona and ideal location for when you want to see this side of the island. Beautiful, and Mary is an amazing host who pays attention to detail. By the way if you are a surfer, dont miss out on the getting to the break accross from the Graveyard. A Left hand turn down the street There is also a nice area to do yoga, or stretch on the property or just to hang out in and enjoy the sunrise. Friendly dogs and cat on property. and be sure to the coastal scenic route into Hllo and make your way down to the waterfall by the botanical garden. besure to wear good footing to climb down and upand barefeet when you are by the water. (slippery)
