This two bedroom ground floor condo was very clean, well equipped and spacious. The master bedroom and bathroom are very large, and the kitchen is the perfect size for family cooking. It was our third stay there, and we hope to return again. It is a "home away from home". The hosts are super helpful and friendly, and checking in was a breeze using the combination lock on the door. The location is excellent, close to a great supermarket, malls, a private beach, golf courses, restaurants, hotels, etc. When the rest of the island was cloudy or raining, it was usually sunny at the Mauna Lani Area. We had a wonderful spa experience at the nearby Mauna Lani Spa. Seeing the dolphins at the nearby Hilton was a thrill. So much to see and do in this location. Would HIGHLY recommend this vacation rental!

Rating Details: I was more than satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. I was very happy with the location. The vacation rental was very clean. The property manager was very helpful. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We had a great time this winter in Kona. The condo is nice, a little dated and a little new. Overall OK. High surf causes a problem , the entire ocean side of the building is protected from the waves that hit the building. A few go completely over the building. Load noise when they hit the front of the condo. In 9 weeks we were only boarded up for 6 days. The view is awesome, perfect for watching the whales breach. We saw a mother and a baby whale having a learning experience. It was fun to watch her teach the baby to do the tricks they do.

Nice Kona Condo Basecamp

Rating Details: I was very satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. I was very happy with the location. The vacation rental was spotless. The property manager was very helpful. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The Staff was professional. Instructions for entry to the club and for keys were clear. The location is right near the beach with an onshore breeze through the windows and a path outside for beach access. The beach is rocky and pounded with rough surf, though this is typical of other nearby beaches. We used the outdoor patio everyday for breakfast and for a relaxing lunch/dinner at other times. It also served as a good basecamp for surfing lessons in Kona and day trips to Hapuna beach and night viewing of the active volcano at Mt. Kileua. Costco is nearby. The two bedrooms were perfect for the four of us--my wife and I and two daughters. Wifi service was good. The only downsides is minor and easily correctable: There is a small few-inch downward step near the inside of the entry way that we kept stumbling over until our daughter put a warning sign on it as a reminder. The fix for this is easy--put some reflective tape along the step as a reminder. I strongly suggest the owner make this minor improvement for liability reasons. if nothing else.
