What an amazing place

5 of 5
Words and photos cannot adequately describe how amazing this place is. When you are in this cottage, you feel as if you are completely surrounded by forest, but it's actually just a few minutes' drive from highway 11 so transportation is easy. Even though it's in a subdivision with plenty of other homes, you can leave all the blinds open to soak in all the greenery and yet still have complete privacy. The cottage is perfectly maintained (I loved the feel of the perfectly clean and fluffy carpet on my feet), and as you walk around the cottage to see what's available, you realize that the owners truly thought of everything. It's so peaceful in here, I could spend a couple of days just sitting in the cottage. But of course the real reason why you're here is Volcanoes National Park, which is just a few minutes away. No matter if it's in this cottage or at another place, do yourself a favor and stay in the area at least a couple of days (we stayed 4 nights), I don't understand how people can drive from Kona and spend only half a day here, there is so much to see on the east side of the island and it seems a shame to have to rush through it. If there are only two of you traveling, I can't imagine a better place to stay than here while exploring the east side of the island.

Comfortable, yet beautifully furnished

5 of 5
A beautiful cottage that is as private and romantic as they imply. Unfortunately, this stay was for business. My coworker and I had a training in Honoka'a so the "romance" factor was a bit wasted on us. However, I would return here in a heartbeat with a partner, with another coworker or even by myself. The finishing touches and thoughtful additions placed here and there made this stay a true pleasure. Just a few miles from Honoka'a and pretty easy to find with their detailed directions. When looking at the amenities my top priority was availability of coffee so I missed that there's no oven or microwave, so put down the frozen pizza and opt for grilling steaks or burgers on a lanai with the most gorgeous views. Loved that the owner was discretely unobtrusive, minimal contact, but had his contact info if I needed anything...which I didn't because they have thought of everything!

Lehuanani...a place to breathe.

5 of 5
Lehuanani is a peaceful, secluded, quiet getaway from life's daily grind. It is "away from it all" enough to allow you to breathe in once again what is important in life. We were fortunate to have our arrival graced by the personal check in from the owner who was so warm and welcoming. The cool air, the singing birds, and the scents of the forest capture your imagination and soul. The sights of the tall 'Ohi'a, Hapu'u, and groves of ginger surrounding the house make you pause. Our family spent many hours hiking the trails of Volcano National Park right up the road, only to come home to a cozy cottage home that begged for you to sit on the porch and just be. Our children loved exploring through the trees and plants of the yard in hopes of sights and pictures not found in our everyday life. Inside Lehuanani, the amenities were perfect for us...clean, done simply, and with elegance. If you are open, Lehuanani will touch your senses. If you are looking for a moment in life to stop and breathe....Lehuanani and the people that care for her will be your balm. Jason Amoy 'Oahu, Hawaii
