Fantastic condo and view

5 of 5
The condo and resort are exceptional. Tom is very easy to work with and is a great source of information. We would not hesitate to recommend the unit to anyone wanting to visit the Big Island and Kona.

“Welcome Home to One of the Best Kept Secrets of Kona!”

5 of 5
Kanaloa - we have recommended this complex as a place to stay while visiting Kailua-Kona for almost 30 years. The property in Keauhou sits between the ocean and a golf course with a small bay bordering its' eastern edge. This unit is located on a courtyard that opens to that bay. The courtyard lanai looks out onto the water emphasizing the oceanfront feel of the condo. The décor is homey with island kitsch appointments, a comfortable setting with a "we love the islands" smile and a wink added into the mix. The owners have generously provided start-up and support supplies to enhance the coming home feel. Most of what a couple or a small family could need to quickly start and thoroughly enjoy the outdoor activities available in Kona is provided. You need more supplies? Try the Keauhou Center shopping plaza. This shopping and entertainment center is a short (6 blocks, about 3 min) drive or a challenging walk (all up hill, about 20 min) away. Shop at KTA (great Mac Nut Danish and take out coffee) or CVS, get a pizza at Bianelli's, sample some wonderful crepes or a cup of specialty coffee at Peaberry and Gallette, or pick-up a reasonably priced meal at L&L Hawaiian Barbeque. The center also has a great bookstore and a made in Hawaii collectibles shop. Lest we forget, Sam Choy's is there as is a multi-screen movie house. This unit is a wonderful base of operations for doing anything on the island (15 min from Kona, 30 min from the Place of Refuge historical site and a number of coffee farms and processors, an hour from South Point, the Green Sand beach, the town of Naalehu or going north Waimea cowboy country and two hours from the Volcano). Beaches are a short drive or a long walk away (try the ones at the old airport). Everything you want is accessible from here, not to mention the 3 pools, 2 tennis courts and public outdoor grills available on property. The property is quiet, comfortable and accessible. This unit has been set-up to be one of the best units on the property (we have stayed at a few). The owners provide guests with a library of books including a number of Hawaiiana titles and more than a few Hawaiian themed DVD's to get you into the Aloha Spirit. You can lunch looking out on the water and truly immerse yourself in paradise. Best of all, you can have all of this at a reasonable price. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this unit. We recommend it to you. We will reserve it again, unless you get there first.

Thai has been a perfect vacation without the use of a car. Each day we walked over to the farmers market for some fresh produce, we checked our e mail right next to the condo and we even played tennis whenever we felt like it in the public tennis court. Jeff would just walk out ot the condo, looked over to the tennis court and came back to to get me and the rackets, great. We took the tour bus around the island which also stopped by the Volcano. Thank you for lsetting us stay in this wonderful, spaciour and comfortable condo. Jeff and Helena Miller
