Big Island Hawaii

Recent Big Island Hawaii Reviews

Beautiful, relaxing home surrounded by nature

5 of 5
I stayed in other rentals prior to Mika Taki on Hawaii but it definitely was the most beautifully furnished and conveniently located of them all. We loved the decor and the generously stocked kitchen. The owners even gave us a welcome basket with goodies which we all enjoyed. The location is fantastic. It is surrounded by nature and very private. The coqui frogs are loud at night, but the owners provided ear buds. The only comment we had was that on overcast days it gets kind of dark in the house and a little damp due to the open nature of the house. We loved the place and will definitely look to stay here again when we visit the Big Island again!

Tropical Paradise

5 of 5
We enjoyed our stay in the hideaway of Mika Mizu. We'd just arrived from 8 days on Oahu, and the contrast of the jungle cottage to Waikiki's busy streets was really breathtaking. We enjoyed both walks down to the waterfalls. It was a great base location from which to see Akaka Falls, the Volcanoes National Park, Boiling Pots, etc. Our favorite part was probably the lanai--what a great view of the lush scenery; and the jungle setting was enhanced by the gorgeous world travel decorations inside. The travel book was helpful to find places to eat. Finally, across planning three condo stays for two weeks in Hawaii, Jamie was easily the best to work with and most accommodating--we'd recommend Mika Mizu to anyone considering Hawaii!

Breathtaking and Exotic

5 of 5
We were here for 5 days last September and were blown away. What an amazing place. From the moment you enter the gate you will feel like you are a world away. The gardens and waterfall is simply like no other and you become immersed in them. Every room has an amazing view of the lush trees and jungle. The river runs through the property so you it's almost all you hear except at night when you hear the frogs singing everywhere. The kitchen is spacious and you can almost get lost walking inside the house. I think this was the first time we did not turn on the TV while on vacation. The Jacuzzi over looks the river and there is literally no one else a round. The view of Reeds fall is breathtaking - and its all yours while you are there. Very difficult to describe this place - other than Wow!!
