                                                            Great spot, great hosts!

                                                            5 of 5
My family (all adults) truly enjoyed our stay at Ka Hale'Olu . There is not much more to be said about the location across from Anini Beach, the beach itself and the North Shore that has not already been stated in prior reviews. If you are looking for the "exotic tropical landscape" that is the vision in most people's dream of ideal Hawai'i, then the North Shore and the locale around this property fit the bill! We visited in late August/Early September when the weather happened to be very hot and very humid. While the lack of A/C made for some discomfort during the daytime, the nights found the home to be very cool and comfortable. Besides, who will be in the house during the day when you have paradise to explore right out your front door?!! Take advantage of the snorkeling gear, beach chairs, towels, umbrellas, coolers, etc. when you spend your days on Ke'e, Haena, Tunnels, and Anini Beaches. Drag the Kayak out to Anini (and stash in the bushes during your time at the house so you are not lugging it every day!) and cruise up and down the coast and out to the reef break...so cool! When you get back from a day of exploring Kauai, grab a beer or glass of wine, then head back out to the beach for terrific sunsets. It's worth pointing out, but not belaboring, the fact that Kauai has bugs and geckos, and they get into the house. It's not a "problem"...it's part of being in Hawai'i. Same to be said for the constant audible presence of chickens. They will crow all day...early to late. Again, welcome to Hawai'i! Keep in mind that the North Shore is not a dining Mecca. So, think about taking advantage of the great, well-appointed kitchen and outdoor gas grill for your meals. While groceries are egregiously expensive on the island, eating in is a helluva lot cheaper that the few restaurants "nearby" in Princeville, Kailua, and Hanalei (check out TripAdvisor to see what I am talking about!). Foodland and Safeway (in Kapa'a) carried some pretty decent fish, all local stuff (Ahi, Ono, Opah, etc). If you are lucky, Cindy and Ross will have just come back from fishing and share some of their catch with you...jus' sayin'! Speaking of the owners/hosts, Cindy and Ross are terrific, friendly and helpful. While we only knew them a week, it felt like we had known them forever. They made our visit to Ka Hale'Olu extra special. Heck, they even shipped back to me a watch I had left behind (thanks again for that, Cindy!). Go ahead and enjoy!

Wonderful location on a secluded beach

                                                            5 of 5
My family stayed at this beautiful spot for 1 week. Located at the end of a rarely used beach road, this remote location is quiet and separated from the hoards of tourists that flock to the areas around Kapaa, Lihue, and even Princeville. Although we needed to rent a car and travel each day almost 1 hour to see the entire island, the tranquility of this home makes the end of the day very relaxing. The home is very comfortable for two couples or a family of 4. Kitchen has everything needed and the grocery store is located just 10 minutes toward Princeville. There is a washer and dryer, microwave and televisions. The owner, Mr. Lee Cerioni is very helpful and reliable. We give this location the highest recommendation.

                                                            A bit more...

                                                            5 of 5
After reading all the rave reviews about this property, there is very little more that I can add. But here goes. This house is exactly as described by the other five star reviews...comfortable, clean, everything needed for extended stays etc. What I would like to emphasize is that because of the protective reef, this part of the beach is NEVER rough. We had 30' waves outside the reef because of a storm that made swimming impossible in nearby Hanalei while Anini was dead calm. Anini is also perfect for kayaking. (Kayaks can be rented by the day or week nearby for a reasonable rate.) There are miles inside the reef for enjoyable paddling. Another think I liked about the house is the way neighboring properties are staggered to protective everyone's privacy while relaxing on the spacious deck. Also, the deck is well above ground level so that views are unobstructed, even on busy weekends. I would like to add that For about the same rate
