Quiet, private, comfortable … and well worth it!

5 of 5
We’re a family of eight – 5 adults, including grandpa, 2 adolescents, and 1 child – native Grenadians (except for our spouses and for our children), who hadn’t been back to the homeland in at least a decade. And when my sister and I decided to have our families vacation together, we wanted to do something different, i.e., something other than the standard “cookie-cutter” hotel stay, where we’d all be cooped up in our respective rooms, bumping into the same people, sharing the same pool, and overpaying for all the extras. So when my wife and my sister decided on the Villa Beachcliff, a 4-bedroom private residence located in the exclusive beachfront neighborhood of L’Anse Aux Epines, on the southeast coast of St. George’s, Grenada, just minutes away from the airport, St. George's University Medical School, and the world-reknown Grand Anse Beach, we knew the experience would be different. But other than the website’s professional marketing and inviting photos, we honestly didn’t quite know what to expect. But boy did the Mexican-styled Villa Beachcliff and its Owner deliver! We arrived in the evening and were immediately impressed by the high level of service. Not only did the Owner pick us up from the airport, but upon arriving at the Villa, parched from a long day of travel, we realized that we'd forgotten to include the most important thing on our shopping list, emailed to the Owner prior to our arrival: beer and local rum. Without being asked, the Owner came back within the half hour with a couple of 6-packs of beer in hand -- a small, but meaningful gesture that set the tone for the rest of our stay. As for the accommodations: 4 private bedroom/bath suites, 2 swimming pools, a huge kitchen and dining room, complimentary WiFi, and multiple outdoor living spaces including a rooftop sun deck, and one that we all agreed was our favorite area of the house, the Lookout: an open, perched veranda that catches the continuous, refreshing cross-breeze that blows from one side of the peninsula to the other. When we weren't enjoying the pools, we “chillaxed” there, imbibing many a Rum/Coke and beer, all while watching the surfers catch waves in the nearby Prickly Bay, otherwise enjoying family-time. And when we chose to leave the property, the Owner was the perfect concierge, making knowledgeable recommendations about the various things we can do to “live” the island, incl snorkeling.

Amazing villa with fantastic views.

5 of 5
My husband and I stayed at Villa Frangipani for 12 days at the beginning of December and cannot emphasize enough the beauty of the villa and the fantastic experience in general with the villa, island and owner. We travel to the Caribbean several times a year and have been to most Caribbean islands. In our experience, typically pictures make the places look better than reality. In the case of Frangipani Villa, the description and photos on the website just do not convey the full beauty of this villa and the island. We were met at the villa by Nurlyn from Down Island Realty and the housekeeper Shirley and were literally in awe as we walked into the front door and saw the ocean view from the wall of windows. The entire villa is spotlessly clean, the kitchen is stocked with everything you can possibly need, the bedrooms and baths are beautifully furnished. All windows and doors are screened to keep bugs out but let the fresh air in. Corine and Christofer, the owners, have spared no expense in this property. Corine, was wonderful to work with from the time we booked the villa until we checked out (and even after!). made us feel so welcome in her house and on her island, I don’t think we’ve ever felt that way at any other villa we’ve stayed at in the past. After losing power, one quick call to Nurlyn at the rental agency and she had made a trip to manually open the driveway gate (the gate keeps cows out of the yard!) and the power company to resolve the issue very quickly! Shirley did a great job and was always smiling and friendly. Carriacou is a wonderful unspoiled island. The island people are very kind and friendly. We drove all over the island, shopped at the little fruit stands, and shopped in the local groceries (shopping typically involves stops at all 4 Hillsboro grocery stores and Patti’s gourmet deli but you should be able to find what you need), never did we feel unwelcome or unsafe. Restaurants that we found wonderful were Boggle’s Roundhouse and Lazy Turtle in Tyrell Bay. Corine has left information on activities and suggestions for things to do, but undoubtedly, you’ll want to spend time relaxing in the villa’s ocean view pool or sitting on undisturbed Paradise Beach. If you are looking for a gorgeous villa, with amazing views on an island of friendly laid back people, I would absolutely recommend Villa Frangipani. We will be back and for a longer stay next time!

Beautiful and secluded

5 of 5
My husband and I spent a wonderful ten days at Valency House in March 2013. Valency House was the perfect tropical paradise. It overlooks the Caribbean Sea and has easy access to beautiful Pink Gin Beach. The parttime housekeeper and her brother, the gardener, were courteous and very helpful. There are convenient close-by world-class restaurants and attractions. There is easy access to the airport and St George's. Valency House's large porch, kitchen, huge well decorated dining room, and bedrooms were clean and well laid-out. We could not have asked for a better place for our vacation stay in Grenada. The owners were great. They gave us tips on places to eat and things to see. They called twice to see how we were doing and left food for us so we had something to eat before we went to the grocery store.
