QUIET, PRIVATE, COMFORTABLE … AND WELL WORTH IT!

5 of 5
We’re a family of eight – 5 adults, including grandpa, 2 adolescents, and 1 child – native Grenadians (except for our spouses and for our children), who hadn’t been back to the homeland in at least a decade. And when my sister and I decided to have our families vacation together, we wanted to do something different, i.e., something other than the standard “cookie-cutter” hotel stay, where we’d all be cooped up in our respective rooms, bumping into the same people, sharing the same pool, and overpaying for all the extras. So when my wife and my sister decided on the Villa Beachcliff, a 4-bedroom private residence located in the exclusive beachfront neighborhood of L’Anse Aux Epines, on the southeast coast of St. George’s, Grenada, just minutes away from the airport, St. George's University Medical School, and the world-reknown Grand Anse Beach, we knew the experience would be different. But other than the website’s professional marketing and inviting photos, we honestly didn’t quite know what to expect. But boy did the Mexican-styled Villa Beachcliff and its Owner deliver! We arrived in the evening and were immediately impressed by the high level of service. Not only did the Owner pick us up from the airport, but upon arriving at the Villa, parched from a long day of travel, we realized that we'd forgotten to include the most important thing on our shopping list, emailed to the Owner prior to our arrival: beer and local rum. Without being asked, the Owner came back within the half hour with a couple of 6-packs of beer in hand -- a small, but meaningful gesture that set the tone for the rest of our stay. As for the accommodations: 4 private bedroom/bath suites, 2 swimming pools, a huge kitchen and dining room, complimentary WiFi, and multiple outdoor living spaces including a rooftop sun deck, and one that we all agreed was our favorite area of the house, the Lookout: an open, perched veranda that catches the continuous, refreshing cross-breeze that blows from one side of the peninsula to the other. When we weren't enjoying the pools, we “chillaxed” there, imbibing many a Rum/Coke and beer, all while watching the surfers catch waves in the nearby Prickly Bay, otherwise enjoying family-time. And when we chose to leave the property, the Owner was the perfect concierge, making knowledgeable recommendations about the various things we can do to “live” the island, incl snorkeling.

WOW, SO NICE AND COMFORTABLE

5 of 5
I was quite nicely surprised with this apartment. It had a washer and dryer. There is 110v which was nice because all our electronics are 110v. It has the England plugs as well. It was great to have a cell phone that was provided by the owner and all I did was add minutes when I needed to use it. Wonderful because I was wondering how I was going to reach my friends on the island. Internet worked great because it was hardlined to my laptop. I am not much of a wireless person. AC in individual rooms. Nice breeze while sitting outside and just quiet. You do have to walk up and down the hills so I learned to zigzag the hills when I had to walk up. A local person told me this trick. Was alot easier to do. Really don't need a car unless you want to drive the whole island. We walked to the beach and home often and took the Reggae busses to St George and Anndale Falls. I am so coming back to this apartment on my next trip. Too much fun. Thanks Bunches.

DREAM VACATION IN PARADISE!

5 of 5
My party and I had an amazing time at St. Martin’s Villa! We went to Grenada for vacation and a wedding and stayed at the property for 12 days. The house is located in a quiet and secure neighborhood with an amazing view of the ocean. The view of the ocean is particularly enjoyable from the swimming pool- rum glass close to hand. The house is well kept; it has spacious rooms and the number of bathrooms is a plus! I stayed there with 7 adults and a 10 month-old baby and everybody fit comfortably. We also had people over for very large dinners that were a huge success. In fact, we had all the amenities, utensils and appliances needed not only to entertain us but also our guests. The property is within walking distance from several beaches that are very quiet and feel like private because you rarely find other people swimming there. My group and I also enjoyed snorkeling in the area since there are lots of colorful fish and coral. In terms of location, St. Martin’s Villa is a 20 minute drive from the airport or from the city center St George’s. It is also not far from the amazing underwater sculpture park (I recommend as a must see if in Grenada). We rented a car and explored other locations as well, such as the Grand Etang National Park, surrounding bays and waterfalls. All incredible sights! Take bananas for the monkeys, we forgot!! Overall, I found that the house and its location provided us with the complete experience of the “dream beach getaway” – perfect for the wedding - while at the same time making you feel at home, something hotels rarely offer. The local property manager answers all your questions. I really enjoyed my time there! I sure hope to come back!
