Beautiful Private Terrace

5 of 5
We had our host help us choose a space to enjoy the Oia sunset and light breeze. We had a big enough space to have a private catered dinner for 4 and a dance area where two musicians played the night away. We had use of the bathroom and the chef had easy accessibility to the kitchen. It was perfectly decorated. A couple of lights allowed the night to magically glow. Thank you MARIA!!

Unbelievable place to stay

5 of 5
Our stay in the windmill was fantastic and offered so much more than most apartment rentals we have stayed in. It is clean, well maintained and has everything you will need during your stay. The location is perfect being on the point of the island and offers a great vantage point to relax with a beverage while watching the sunset and the boats. It is an easy walk to the grocery, bakery, meat market, bus and main tourist shop area of Oia. Zinia, the owner and Artemsa the custodian are both wonderful and so responsive to every inquiry or need you may have. Be sure to watch for the produce cart to purchase wonderful and fruits and fresh vegetables. The shop owners and locals of Santorini are as eager to share stories as they are to sell their wares. It is easy to get lost in the culture of Santorini if you allow yourself to venture away from Oia and Fira. The bus system is very efficient and can take you anywhere with the main hub being in Fira which is only a 20 minute ride away. Be sure to eat at Mama's House in Fira and enjoy Nikos and Kostas the wait staff there. Travel light with sturdy luggage as cobblestones and steps are everywhere. Thank you Zinia for a wonderful two weeks in the Sunset Windmill.

Just perfect!

5 of 5
It was our first time in Santorini and Maria's Place was the perfect escape! Our vacation started well with Kostas meeting us at the port. We would have been overwhelmed if he was not there to pick us up! When we got there, Anna gave us a warm welcome; showed us to our room; and asked us to come see her once we got settled. She gave us so much useful information! Because of her, we were able to explore and enjoy Oia to its fullest! Our room was perfect! It was nice and clean and had a great view of the ocean. We appreciated the daily maid service too! Maria's Place is in a great location too. It's about a 12-15 minute walk to town. Once you're in town, you had plenty of dining options. And the views...?! My husband and I kept pinching ourselves to make sure that we were really there. Take the walk from Oia to Fira! It can be a bit of a challenge but you cannot beat the view! Plus you can take your time and stop at cafes along the way. Rent an ATV or car(rent it in Fira because they are much cheaper) and explore Santorini! My husband and I rented an ATV for two days and explored most of the island. We were able to see some cute and quaint towns along the way. Such a great experience! And of course, the food...! OMG, we could not get enough! Check out Kyria Niki's. It's a 10 minute drive from Fira on the way to the airport. They make the BEST tomato keftedes(tomato balls), awesome grilled white eggplants, lamb chops to die for and the BEST cocala(I think this is how it's spelled)-braised pig leg! My husband and I ate dinner there two nights in a row because the food is soooo good! It's a whole in a wall but amazing home cooking! All right, enough of the food. Stay at Maria's Place because it's a great place. You can relax, unwind and find yourself again! And Anna and Kostas made the stay even better because of their "red carpet" hospitality! We would definitely go back!
