Comfortable Villa with Incredible Views!

4 of 5
We stayed at Marble Sun Villa the first week of March. The villa is very well-equipped and the beds are super-comfortable. The views from the terrace are amazing and the villa is within walking distance of everything in Oia. Be prepared -- the villa is down the hill, which means that you have to walk up and down stairs (also, one of the bedrooms is upstairs in the villa). Luckily, Tina arranged for a porter to carry our luggage for us! Tina also arranged for our airport transfers and met us when we arrived. She explained everything to us and attempted to set up tours for us. Since we visited off-season, many of the tours weren't available. However, we visited the volcano (caldera) by boat, saw the red and black beaches, toured the archaeological excavation and also arranged to have massages. We were able to travel around the island by local bus, which was convenient and inexpensive. Oia was spectacularly beautiful and not crowded. Unfortunately, most restaurants and many shops were closed while we were there. There was a lot of renovation going on in the village, to prepare for high season. A few restaurants, the supermarket and some shops were open. In Fira, much more was open and it was just a short bus ride away. But, it would have been nice to know when I booked that not much would be open in Oia. It was a great stay, though. I recommend the Marble Sun Villa -- but, plan your travels a little bit later in the year to be able to enjoy the restaurants and bars of Oia.

Beautiful Greek Villa

4 of 5
Incredible views and comfortable space. Location and view attracts photographing tourists. You will likely have to maneuver through the tourists as you walk to and from your villa to shopping/ restaurants (short walk, though upstairs). Yannis will be there to help you with your luggage, and answer any questions you may have. Yannis is so wonderful and nice and we truly appreciate all that he did for us. Though the villa is beautifully painted white, when the sun is out, you will have to wear sunglasses while you are on the terrace. It is SO bright. Wi-fi was excellent. Restaurants were decent, but not great. We went to the super market and butchery and cooked up a lamb roast in the oven. Walk down to Amoudi Bay for lunch at Red Shark. Paul, the manager, is simply a wonderful person and excellent manager. Order the octopus and whole fish. Paul is always there and will make sure you have a great dining experience. Table wine is much cheaper than bottled wine and tastes the same. We tried nearly every bottle of wine on the island, and came back to table wine for the duration of our trip. Drinking the table wine will save you a lot of Euros. Lastly, you can not flush toilet paper down the loo. Rather inconvenient, though all of Santorini is like this.

Wonderful, wonderful

5 of 5
Unparalleled views and terrific location. Maria was more hospitable than we could ever have hoped, and the property was perfect for our family of four (two young boys). Do be aware, however, that at sunset the terrace becomes more public than private (ie vacationers from other properties without this view are invited to share your space). Nevertheless, we will be back.
