                                Stunning house and views

                                5 of 5
Our family (parents and teens) spent a fabulous week here in June. We continue to rave about the house and its wonderful caretaker, Maria. From the moment we arrived very weary from 24 hours of travel, and were met by Spiro and his donkeys, and handed glasses of cool water after our climb from the harbor by Maria, we knew it would be a perfect stay. The view was unforgettable at any time of the day, and at night it was superb to sit and watch the sunset over the sea and the lights come on in the town. We swam in the pool many times a day and were very, very happy to have that option when we did not feel like hiking down to swim off the rocks across the harbor. The breezes were wonderful throughout the house and made sleeping pleasant. The small kitchen was adequate for our very limited needs (we dined in town once or twice a day). Maria had wonderful dining and hiking suggestions, and arranged for a lovely Hydriot to come and cook a dinner for us. She also helped arrange for us to bring our luggage down the night before our early morning ferry. I have raved to many friends about this spot and would w/o reservation come again.

                                Magic!

                                5 of 5
The Windmill is the most beautiful place you can imagine! The pictures on HomeAway don’t lie. We loved the view, the sunsets, the two donkeys, Stasia and Soritsa (which we fed every day) and the dog Sallie. We also had fun watching the every day life in the harbor. We even liked the stairs! Hydra is a very special island, it’s hard to describe the atmosphere, it’s something you just have to experience. I think we all fell in love with both Hydra and The Windmill. And Maria, the owner, is so sweet, warm hearted and helpful. Thank you, Maria, for letting us stay in your home. It felt like it was our home too! We’ll be back! Wonderful apartment with stunning view

                                5 of 5
The listing and pictures did not do the property justice, Its a wonderful combination of a tradition historic building sympathetically restored with all modern facilities. It has stunning views over the harbour, town and Saronic Gulf. The owners provided more than we expected ,including beach towels, bottled water, toiletries, plus a generous starter pack of tea, coffee, sugar etc. Too many other extras to mention. Very effective aircon, hot water and showers, not always found in Greece! The apartment was spotless. The beds were very comfortable and the terraces, and gardens were much enjoyed. The owner met us at the port with mules to carry our bags up to the property and was very friendly and helpful with information and advise en route. There are a number of ways to reach the Seagulls Nest, some longer but easier others shorter but much harder. You will be much fitter when you leave but the views and the property are worth every step. There is interest at every turn and the labyrinth of alleyways distracts you from the effort of the climb. The four corners supermarket is a reasonably level 5 mims walk, passing Leonard Cohen's house on the way. We can't recommend this property highly enough. We are counting the days till we can return
