Wonderful !

5 of 5
The reality of this property was even nicer than the pictures, which can't capture the smells of the flowers, the feeling of being completely private, or even plucking lemons off the trees every day to make lemonade ! There were multiple lemon trees, pomegranate trees, olive trees, bougenvilias, jasmine, and a multitude of other plants I can't name ! It was really a beautiful house in the middle of a beautiful garden estate. The pool was great. The playground was very nice. Access to Naplion is about 10 mins by car, and maybe 5 mins to the nearer towns for groceries. The veranda around the house has two great eating and lounging areas, or you can open up the "quad doors" completely to open the inside living area up to the outside. Our 21 year old niece went crazy for this place and loved the upstairs "condo" (bedroom, ensuite washroom, living room and private balcony). Our son regularily describes the best days of his life as "I liked it a little bit", but described Villa Rodon as "THIS PLACE IS AWESOME!!". We spent hours and hours each day in the pool spending time with eachother. So very sad to leave it !

Truly Special Place!

5 of 5
“Stone Retreat” is a work of art! Christopher and Rosa have created a unique space that allows for a full appreciation of the countryside. They have a beautiful sense of design and have paid loving attention to every detail of the home. The beds are very comfortable with linens that look too beautiful to sleep in! The exceptional shower with a rainfall showerhead is lovely too. The home has two levels that are separate from each other. Our teenage daughters felt lucky to have their own “apartment” and patio on the second level. “Stone Retreat” is also immaculate and full of wonderful surprises. We really enjoyed the lovely basket filled with olive oil, honey, lavender, mountain tea, fresh eggs…that greeted us upon arrival. Also, there is an extensive record collection which brought much enjoyment, and our daughter was thrilled to be able to play the guitar. Rosa also has her incredibly beautiful weaving throughout the house. The outdoor spaces are magical. Potted flowers and plants fill the courtyard. The heather was in full bloom and the honeybees were wild with delight. We looked forward to sharing our meals outside, especially in the evening when the patio lights created a wonderful ambience. We would spend hours just sitting by the table and then would go the upstairs patio to look at the stars. Every day we took walks from the house. We mainly stayed on the roads, but never saw a car. The flowers, interesting insects, and expansive views to the sea were wonderful! It was so nice to walk in absolute quiet, except for the sound of a buzzing insect or goat bell. Christopher and Rosa provided us with maps and lists of things to do. We headed their advice and were never disappointed. They had recommended a beach near the Assini Ruins and we spent three afternoons there. It is a small beach with chairs and umbrellas for rent, so there is respite from the sun. Also, we enjoyed three lovely meals at the taverna above the beach. Napflio is a very delightful town nearby with many great restaurants, historic sites, and a great seawall walk. The nearby village of Kasia is also nice for a good meal--very charming village. Mycenae and Epidaurus are an easy drive from the house too. “Stone Retreat” is truly a special place. We felt so fortunate to be able stay there. Thank you, Christopher and Rosa, for sharing your home and giving us so many wonderful memories. We loved every moment of our stay and hope to return again one day.

The perfect escape

5 of 5
Nikos has designed and built a delightful house for those wishing to escape the hustle and bustle of everyday life and the typical tourist hubs. The house has been tastefully furnished with interesting artifacts everywhere you turn and was extremely clean. A true highlight was the evenings spent on the balcony listening to the sound of silence and looking out a sky full of stars. Just a 2 min drive away (or a 15 min walk) from the nearest beach makes it an ideal location. Nikos provided us with numerous recommendations of things to do and see in and around Porto Heli - including a delightful Taverna worth visiting in the nearby town of Koilada. As there is no internet access (which we were thrilled about), for those in need of the occasional glance, one of the tavernas at a nearby beach had free wifi. We would most certainly love the opportunity to go back and highly recommend this property. Naomi and Guy Spigelman
