Memorable holidays !!!!!!!!!!

5 of 5
The most memorable parts were the people, the food, the place. We felt at home with the owners of the wonderful Villa. This is a fantastic family owned business that provides the nicest and most soothing atmosphere to relax and enjoy with your family. We can't wait to come again and enjoy the sun,the sea,the view from the balcony and the ancient theatre of Epidavros! Truly Special Place!

5 of 5
“Stone Retreat” is a work of art! Christopher and Rosa have created a unique space that allows for a full appreciation of the countryside. They have a beautiful sense of design and have paid loving attention to every detail of the home. The beds are very comfortable with linens that look too beautiful to sleep in! The exceptional shower with a rainfall showerhead is lovely too. The home has two levels that are separate from each other. Our teenage daughters felt lucky to have their own “apartment” and patio on the second level. “Stone Retreat” is also immaculate and full of wonderful surprises. We really enjoyed the lovely basket filled with olive oil, honey, lavender, mountain tea, fresh eggs…that greeted us upon arrival. Also, there is an extensive record collection which brought much enjoyment, and our daughter was thrilled to be able to play the guitar. Rosa also has her incredibly beautiful weaving throughout the house. The outdoor spaces are magical. Potted flowers and plants fill the courtyard. The heather was in full bloom and the honeybees were wild with delight. We looked forward to sharing our meals outside, especially in the evening when the patio lights created a wonderful ambience. We would spend hours just sitting by the table and then would go the upstairs patio to look at the stars. Every day we took walks from the house. We mainly stayed on the roads, but never saw a car. The flowers, interesting insects, and expansive views to the sea were wonderful! It was so nice to walk in absolute quiet, except for the sound of a buzzing insect or goat bell. Christopher and Rosa provided us with maps and lists of things to do. We headed their advice and were never disappointed. They had recommended a beach near the Assini Ruins and we spent three afternoons there. It is a small beach with chairs and umbrellas for rent, so there is respite from the sun. Also, we enjoyed three lovely meals at the taverna above the beach. Napflio is a very delightful town nearby with many great restaurants, historic sites, and a great seawall walk. The nearby village of Kasia is also nice for a good meal--very charming village. Mycenae and Epidaurus are an easy drive from the house too. “Stone Retreat” is truly a special place. We felt so fortunate to be able stay there. Thank you, Christopher and Rosa, for sharing your home and giving us so many wonderful memories. We loved every moment of our stay and hope to return again one day.

A beautiful spot which feels like paradise.

5 of 5
This Villa stands between olive trees on a slope between to hills with a breathtaking view on the sea below and the hills/mountains on the other side of the sea. When we arrived there it was beyond our expectations. The house itself is very comfortable and gave us a lot of privacy. First of all because of the big garden and terrace surrounding it, but also inside we had our own bathroom connected to our bedroom. We even had our own balcony. The sea was on walking distance and the most amazing thing was the fact that sometimes we felt owning the whole beach for ourselves. Although the Villa has such nice features that we could stay around the house the whole week, the area around Kantia has so much interesting places to visit that you must go outdoors and enjoy historic venues like Mycene, Epidaurus and Corinthe. In Nemea we discovered not only an acient sportstadium, but found also a very nice winery. The innercity of Nafplio is also very worth visiting. We spent many times there having typical Greek dinners in many different restaurants or just relaxing on a terrace. You hardly find there groups of tourits except from Greeks out of Athens. We really could feel being part of Greek life. The Villa was our homebase and will be our base for many times to come. First of all because there is still so much to discover and also we fell in love with this beautiful house. It was in perfect shape and immaculate clean. We really can recommend it to all our friends. What was also very nice that we could fly towards Athens International Airport and from there we could drive by car within 2 hours to this nice place. No ferries whatsoever which made it an easy acces. Laying on the terrace of this villa with all modern comfortable facilities gave us the feeling of living as gods in Greece. We hope that we're able to go back to this place as much as we can. Highly recommended, Christoffel van Hees
