First, I must say that Janice is a wonderfully, sweet lady. I got a chance to talk to her on the phone and she was very nice. The house is located just a short drive to the beach and is in walking distance to Tybee Oaks Shopping Center which we loved! Great shops! The house is lovely and just like the pictures show. Plenty of room, two large decks, pretty decor and just all around splendid. It was so nice after a day at the beach and running around the island to come "home" to this house and relax. Plus, it was very quiet and we appreciated that greatly. We loved it so much we wanted to stay another day. I sent Janice a text and asked. Even though she was supposed to come the day we were leaving to get ready for the next guests, she let us have that extra night. I know this was probably an inconvenience to her, but she was very gracious and sweet about it. I did clean the house for her to help with time so she wouldn't be rushed to get it ready. It was the least I could do for her. Also, when Tropical Storm Arthur was making his rounds, she sent me a text to check on us and to make sure we were doing okay. Luckily, it passed us by. Honestly, we could not have had a better place to stay with that kind of personal touch. As for the island, we found the best and cheapest pizza at Huca Poo's. No air conditioning, so we got it to go. It was delicious and huge! The best Bloody Marys were at Bernie's Oyster House. The best food was at MacElwees. The Rock House was a fun restaurant and they serve the Fat Elvis. My husband almost ate it all....almost. Captain Mike's dolphin tours is a must!! There is only one grocery store on the island, a small IGA. However, they had everything we needed. We didn't care for The Crab Shack. Food was mediocre, expensive and there were LOTS of cats running around everywhere including where people were eating. We really enjoyed visiting Fort Pulaski. It's $5 and kids are free. It's a great deal and very informative and fun. We also got to see the raising of the flags and cannon demonstrations. It is a small island, but packed with things to do. So many, in fact, we didn't get to do it all and we were there seven nights. The pier is also a must do on your list. Fishing was fun and just hanging out there with cool wind blowing on a hot day was awesome! I highly recommend renting from Janice. I'd like to add that she has the best deal on price that I could find, especially for the size of the house. Many thanks to her!!
