Absolutely adequate for 2 people

My husband and I take an annual trip to Savannah each February and came upon David's rental on VRBO. This was just what we needed after staying in hotels in previous years. The location is in a residential neighborhood, quite convenient and down the block from the Kroger Supermarket. Onstreet parking is free, but there are also spaces in the rear, too. The condo is walkable to Forsyth Park, but it is a decent trek to the waterfront. There are some really great restaurants and coffeeshops just a few blocks south of the condo. Unfortunately, there was quite the cold snap going on during our stay, so we were unable to utilize the pool. That said, the electric fireplace helped warm the condo nicely. The bed was comfy and the bedroom quite spacious. The only thing I found odd was that there was no bureau or dresser in the bedroom--we piled our clothes on the desk in the room. I would suggest adding at least an inexpensive IKEA bedroom piece or dresser from a consignment store. The kitchen was well equipped for us to make breakfast and coffee, as we enjoyed most of our lunches and dinners out. All linens were provided and the condo was in very tidy shape when we arrived. Cable TV and wireless internet worked just fine for us during our stay. The shower was soothing, but the jacuzzi tub was not operating during our stay. This is an affordable place to rent for a weekend getaway. I think if you were staying longer than 3-4 days, it would need to have laundry. The location of the condo also allows for easy access to the main highway to Tybee Island--about a 30 min drive to the east. Definitely check this place out.

Lovely farm outside Savannah

5 of 5
We had a lovely weekend at the Retreat! The photographs do not do the grounds justice. It is a sprawling farm with a nice lawn up front and marshland at the back. The guest cottage itself was smaller than we expected but at the same time quaint and nicer than we expected! It is great for a couple or a small family. The hosts were very helpful and ready to help if we needed anything. The vegetable garden was great and thanks for sharing the watermelon that just came off the patch! Our kids had a great time chasing the chicken and playing with the kitten. I would definitely recommend it for someone who is looking for some a peaceful vacation and at the same time not being too far away from the action. Thanks for the good time!

Great stay just what we wanted.

Wanted to visit downtown Savannah but did not want to pay for a over price hotel that we would only be sleeping in. Found this rental and love it. It was a surprise anniversary weekend for my wife. I was hoping that she would like the place and she love it. It was truly our home away from home. David meet us at the house and show up around and was very nice. This was a duplex but the neighbors did not bother us at all. This was an older house but they did a great job remodeling the inside. The inside of the house was great and roomie to say it was one bed and one bath. It had a stack washer and dryer. The living room had a nice flat screen TV and dish network. At nights we used the TV and DVD player to watch DVD from Redbox which we got from Kroger's which was walking distance from the house. Nice couch with a pull out but we did not use the pull out. The living room also had an electric fire place. The house also had WiFi which was good for our tablets as we look up places to go in Savannah. The bath room was very cool with a bowl counter top sink and the jacuzzi tub on the inside was very nice. The kitchen has new appliances including stove, fridge and microwave. Dishes, glasses, plate and utensil where provided. Even wine glasses! The back porch had tables and chair and over hang, it was very nice in the evening as the sun went down to sit and relax. The pool and outdoor area was very nice and block off by private fencing. Parking was ok there was parking on the street in front and also had a grass lot in the back. We enjoy our stay here and if we are ever back in Savannah I will make sure to try to rent this place again.
