The property was a delightful experience!

5 of 5
The minute we walked in the door everyone broke into smiles. The decor was so warm and welcoming. There are touches of elegance and whimsy. We have rented several beach vacation homes and Bend in the River greatly exceeded our expectations for a vacation rental. We had four generations ranging from 3 to 68. Everyone's vote is to come back to the lake. The layout of the house was also perfect for us because it is broken down so that each separate family unit had its own space and at the same time all of us could have meals together and interact in the open spaces indoors and out. Having a dock and a boat was also an important part of the experience. We enjoyed canoeing and pedal boating and fishing off the dock. We highly recommend this property.

Perfect house for our group

5 of 5
This house was perfect for our family reunion! There are three bedrooms and two full bathrooms downstairs, and three more bedrooms and another full bathroom upstairs. Each room is uniquely decorated with gorgeous wood beds. There are plenty of televisions and fireplaces too. The ac and fans made the house comfortable on the warm days. We all enjoyed playing pool, exploring the creek, and soaking in the hot tub. The very large kitchen is nicely equipped and the house was perfectly clean. The owner was a pleasure to work with and answered questions promptly. We enjoyed hiking at AmicalolaFalls, tubing, visiting Ellijay and Dahlonega, seeing the animals and eating ice cream at Mountain Valley Farm, and tasting Georgia wines at Cartecay Vineyard. Grocery stores are close enough and we bought great produce at R and A Orchards. All in all, a great place to stay!

Fantastic Experience for Recent LARGE Family Reunion!

5 of 5
Wow, I don't even know where to begin. My wife's family just had their bi-annual family reunion here last week and I don't have a negative word to say. This place can easily accommodate a lot more than 44 people. The kids ranged from 3 weeks old to 16 years old, and there was something for everyone. The pictures looked nice and the reviews were great, but you really have to go to get the full effect. Our family if huge, yet we were able to hang together, eat together, etc., without having to even leave the main floor. I have a lot of back problems but I couldn't keep my eyes open once I hit that wonderful bed. I had it in my mind that I'd be fishing a lot while there, but there were so many things to do that I actually never cast my line once. It's a pretty classy place as far as furnishings go, but not so classy that you don't feel at home. The industrial kitchen was amazing for our big family. We constantly used the nice pool facility, the pavilion, and even made good use of the nice conference center for a family meeting. Teresa, the extremely nice woman in charge, was BEYOND accommodating to our family. I have never been to a lodge or B&B where someone went this far out of the way to make sure we had what we needed and then some. I would go back in a heartbeat, and plan to in the future. If you want to get away from the world for a bit, I highly recommend this venue. If you go in the summer, just remember that you're in the woods in the south, so there are bugs outside (not a problem inside). Oddly enough, however, I didn't get a single mosquito bite. Anyhow, if you want a nice family or business retreat experience, I highly recommend it, and I'm typically a picky person.
