              PERFECT LAKE HOUSE!!

              5 of 5
This house is perfect in every way! Beautifully decorated from top to bottom. So very close to Lake Burton (10 minute walk) with beautiful views. Loft area is perfect place for kids to hang out. The backyard is good sized and located right off of the screened porch. Perfect for evening games. House is equipped with everything that you could possibly need. We even had someone get cut down by the lake and found a fully stocked first aid kit in the kitchen. Debbie is amazing and gave us all of the information that we needed to have a fun relaxing holiday weekend!! Don't hesitate to book this house. You won't be disappointed!!

Perfect place for a quiet mountain getaway

              5 of 5
This house is brand new, and we really enjoyed our stay very much. The house was clean when we arrived and everything was in working order, including the wi-fi. The ceilings are high, the furniture is comfortable, and the living room feels open and airy. There are ceiling fans in every room that allow you to take advantage of the crisp, clean mountain air. Both bedrooms have large, comfortable queen beds with an additional set of bunk beds in one of the bedrooms. The kitchen is outfitted with anything you might need. The front porch is large and was a great place to enjoy the mornings. There's another patio in the back with its own refrigerator. Both patios have a table and chairs to sit down and enjoy a meal. A big bonus is the fenced pet area off to the side of the house. The owners put together a binder with all of the area's attractions that's very helpful to anyone not familiar with the area. The alpine town of Helen is a short drive away, and there are numerous hiking trails within a short drive with waterfalls and gorgeous scenery. Minnehaha Falls is really pretty, and the sliding rock (natural waterslide) Bridal Veil Falls at Tallulah Gorge is a big hit with the kids. If you want to get some air and walk around without having to get in the car, just walk across the highway and head down E Wildcat Road for a 3-mile hike around a loop that comes back out on the same highway just a few hundred feet away. The entire length of the road is shaded under a canopy of trees. We had great meals in Clayton both at Grapes and Beans (lunch) and Zeppelin's Pasta House (dinner). There's an enormous Ingles grocery store with everything you need to make use of the house's kitchen. The location of the house is ideal for anyone looking to escape and decompress from the city. It's only a 2 hour drive from Atlanta, but you feel completely removed from the hustle and bustle of the city. We would definitely stay here again!

              Classic lake cabin retreat

              5 of 5
Finding a lakefront cabin that has 4 separate bedrooms to actually accommodate 8 people (6 adults and 2 teenagers) that has real cabin ambiance and is also pet friendly was a tall order to fill, but this cabin house did exactly that! Secluded but not isolated, the lake boathouse with canoe and kayaks made for many relaxing afternoons cooling off in the lake. Plenty of room inside the cabin not to feel cramped but amenable for gatherings. Biking on the lakefront road was a fun, vigorous way to get some healthy exercise and a great way to sightsee all the vistas on the lake road. Also enjoyed the hot tub and firepit making s'mores. The only "surprise" was that the boathouse was across the street, but it's a very short walk of only 50 yards, so not a concern. We also enjoyed going in to the little town of Helen to sightsee, float the river, pick up groceries and supplies at the old-style grocery store and go to the old mill store to purchase some genuine milled southern food. Also, all the hiking you can ask for at the nearby gorge. The owners are excellent at communicating and answering any and all questions. Just try to make sure you get as many questions answered ahead of time since for the most part you'll be out of cellphone range, which is actually a blessing of sorts. Have already recommended this property to a very good friend who is also a cabin afficianado and he's really looking forward to scheduling a stay there, too. We fully intend to go back again since we enjoyed ouselves so much and got that laid-back, relaxed vacation you envision anytime you create a mental picture of the perfect mountain getaway retreat!
