THE BEST GETAWAY FOR FLORIDIANS - WHY GO TO CAROLINA? IT IS SO CLOSE AND SO AMAZING!

                  5 of 5
This mountain cabin was just what the doctor ordered. I was in great need for some R&R but I also wanted activities for the kids. We had an amazing view of the lake and the mountains beyond it. We saw 84 deer over the course of the week, including some bedding down at night in the backyard, some young buck with velvet racks, and two fawns chasing their mom. The kids loved the daily count... We are from Florida, it was an easy drive and the mountains were surprisingly large. Why travel all the way to the Carolinas? We could see 50 miles on clear days. We arrived on July 5th and saw fireworks from five cities in the region going on at the same time. It was the most beautiful mountain view from a lodge or cabin that I have ever seen. It is as beautiful as the roadside views in a national park. Breathtaking... It was not just a mountain experience - we had access to the lake with the rental boat and the provided kayaks. It is a spring-fed lake with clear water - no red clay! We swam everyday. We did not get a chance to fish because we were too busy hiking and swimming. One side of the lake is undeveloped and the creeks feeding in to the lake create some deep fishing holes that are accessible by boat... plenty of live bait in the small stores nearby. I will fish next time there, and we will go back. Seven days was not enough... We had a chance to dine at the golf course clubhouse. They had live music and great food in a casual atmosphere. The golf course looked challenging. It is a great retreat, with tennis courts, playgrounds, trails, swimming pools, open fields and wilderness. The cabin was rustic - a true log cabin with a game-room loft. Bear-theme, and although we did not see any, perhaps you may. The wildlife included birds of prey drafting in the winds. The master bedroom has huge windows and we woke to the view each morning - the weather was perfect! There was a treadmill but we got plenty of exercise in the mountains and were eager to unwind in the hot tub and sauna. The enormous smart-TV was so clear and the sound system so deep we felt like we were at the movies in the comfortable living room. A full kitchen served us well for our long stay - it was fully stocked with all the comforts of home. Everything was high quality right down to the comforters and towels. The bed was more comfortable than my own. I can't wait to go back. It was a really great vacation. I am refreshed and so glad we went.

GREAT VACATION SPOT TO GET AWAY FROM IT ALL

                  5 of 5
I live in NYC and wanted to get away for the holiday weekend. I have to say that this was the perfect spot to enjoy myself and relax. Both the house and the property are beautiful and extremely well-kept. Our party consisted of 4 people including myself, and there was more than enough room. We spent most of our time out on the dock or boat, which are just a few steps away from the back door. The house has a back deck overlooking the lake which is perfect for eating meals with whomever you're vacationing with. I was particularly impressed with the theater downstairs--the screen and seats are better than most movie theaters I've been to! Overall, there's not a bad thing I can say about the property, and I'll be looking to book the same place next Summer!

                  A RELAXING FAMILY REUNION!

                  5 of 5
From the moment we walked in to your beautiful home we all felt relaxed! Your house was great for our large group (7 adults and 3 kids) with plenty of room to spread out. The house was beautifully decorated with a very rustic feel but all the modern conveniences. We spent our days on the dock...swimming, canoeing, fishing...very relaxing! In fact we had two fish frys with all the fish the guys caught! We cooked homemade dinners each night in your very well equipped kitchen, had drinks on the deck, played games downstairs, tried out the hot tub and played cards on the screened in porch. A great way to connect! This was such a quiet spot on the lake and your house shows off the natural outdoor beauty through all the large windows. We loved having a large dining table to all eat together at. We had several backyard visits from some local deer, geese and ducks...very fun for my kids! The guys played a round of golf at the local course and we ventured out one day, but other than that stayed home and were never bored. There is a lot to keep you busy or to just relax if you prefer. The listing was just as it was described, and Rob was easy to work with. The house was very clean and well taken care of. We loved the extra touch with the gift basket. I would recommend this house highly and hope to make it back one day. All in all, it was a relaxing reunion and a great way to catch up with family! We miss it already.
