Serene designer getaway in Blue Ridge Mountains

5 of 5
If you are looking for a peaceful hideout within a comfortable drive of numerous state parks, national forests, clear mountain lakes, quaint antique filled towns, a nice variety of local restaurants, tumbling waterfalls, and lush hiking trails, this is it! We had plenty to do and golfed on two different courses in addition to all of the other activities, but also enjoyed just hanging out in the living room and reading a good book. Our favorite golf course was Whitepath, which was uncrowded and had herds of deer wandering along the extremely hilly fairways. The cabin has recently been remodeled, is immaculate and beautifully furnished. The fact that our host is a residential designer who worked on high end homes in the area was apparent in every rustic chic detail...the kitchen was well equipped with a lovely view of the forest, the living room is spacious but cozy and the shower is awesome. Getting to the cabin requires a 9 mile drive on a 2 lane road from the nearest main highway, followed by another 2 miles up a winding narrow gravel road, but even though the setting is private, there are several larger "cabins" on acreage nearby that are out of sight but close enough to keep one from feeling too isolated. Coming from Florida, we enjoyed the noticeably cooler days and nights, did a lot of cooking, dined and breakfasted on the screen porch and loved listening to the roar of cicadas after dark. Molly was extremely gracious and after agonizing over numerous cabins online, we were very pleased with our choice. We combined it with a trip to Charleston and St. Augustine followed by a visit to the High Museum in Atlanta on our way home and had a wonderful Southern road trip. Highly recommended if you love being out of doors but appreciate a nicely furnished home.

Excellent vacation place!

5 of 5
Rating Details: I was more than satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. I was very happy with the location. The vacation rental was very clean. The property manager was very helpful. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Excellent vacation! The only thing was that the bedspreads needed to be laundered. We had extra people so we used all the linens. One blanket has stains and holes and needs to be thrown out. Manager responded on 8/6/2014: 8/6/2014 Agree about the blanket, trashed! Everything else taken to dry cleaners

Wonderful Excursion

5 of 5
Rating Details: I was very satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. I was very happy with the location. The vacation rental was very clean. The property manager was very helpful. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We had a wonderful time at this cabin. Though our visit was short we did as much as we could in close proximity and felt at home when we returned. My teens enjoyed the hot tub and we enjoyed the quiet surroundings. The cabin was in a nice location and easy to find. Close enough to the city for any needs and only a short drive to several tourist sites. We visited the Tabor House & Civil War Museum, Carters Lake, the Tennessee Valley Railroad in Chattanooga, Lookout Mountain, the Amicalola Falls and ate a great inexpensive early dinner at Cider Ridge in town. We would have liked to have caught some trout but did not have enough time to explore places to fish. However, we did fish below the Carl Dover Memorial Bridge that was right around the corner from the cabin but did not catch any trout. If we were to vacation once again in this area we would definitely consider renting the same cabin the price was affordable and the rental agency Mountain Memories were very considerate and helpful to my needs. Overall experience was A+ and we had fun!
