Great vacation. Very relaxing

4 of 5
Let me start by saying this was our first vacation in 3 years. It was myself, my husband, our son (6 years), our daughter (15 months at the time), my brother, his wife, their daughter (15 years) and their son (12 years). The cabin was absolutely beautiful. And the setting was great. The owner was very nice to do business with. We were able to do a lot of hiking locally and also drive less than two hours for some other great day trips. I do want to point out a few things though: the 3 older kids loved the game room (as well as the men). However if you have a young child like myself, there really wasn't much for her to do. The only place outside for her to play was in the road as there isn't a back yard and the front slopes. All the kids were disappointed about this as they had brought soccer balls. And with stairs we were having to get the 15 month old off of them all the time. The only TV that we were allowed to hook the video game system too was downstairs in the 3rd bedroom. So all of us could not play at once. Which turned out not to be a problem as the system couldn't be hooked up to the TV since it was old. The newer TVs had the ports covered with DO NOT USE on them. So not new video friendly. The lay out was good for the cabin. The 3 older kids slept downstairs. One couple in the main floor bedroom. One couple in the upstairs bedroom (which was large enough to set up the playpen for the baby to sleep in). The biggest complaint from the adults regarding the bedrooms were the beds. They slept terrible and squeezed and creaked every single time you moved! Makes for a hard night. We all enjoyed the fire pit. And the kids loved the nightly fires. The bikers in the family loved the roads through the community. Please note that the swimming pool is lovely but it IS about 3 miles or so from the cabin. No just walking to it. Which is fine for most people, but for us that was a long trek with two young children. It was a great pool though. Well kept. And the one time we made the trip, we all had fun. Ending thoughts- the cabin was beautiful with breath taking views. Super cozy. Located close enough to lots of different things to do. And it's very secluded. However- it might be best for families without very young mobile children. And not for gamers at this time. Overall- we all enjoyed it. And the kids are still talking about it. Thanks for a wonderful vacation.
