Our home away from home

5 of 5
This was our 2nd time staying here & we love it so very much! When we walked in it was just the same as we left it the year before, making it feel even more like home. We have become quite attached to the cabin & look forward to many many more get aways there. Thank u, Aimee, for making us feel so at home!

Fabulous time!!!

5 of 5
We rented both the Grey Heron House and the Carriage house as well. We had a group of 14 the first night. It was such a great time!!! Cabins are close to Blue Ridge however it does take some time to find the place(first fork in the road is about 8/10 of a mile from the address given on Hogback road). The driveway to the Grey Heron house is somewhat steep and had to use the low gear to navigate back up. My only issue was the labeling of the trails. In my opinion, the "easy walking trail" should be labeled easy hiking trail. There is no way if the grandmother of the group came that she could have done this trail. It's fine for the kids but really it isn't a trail I would let them do alone. My kids are 12 and 11 and I didn't feel comfortable letting them roam the property by themselves down to the river. But other than that it was a great time. Well kept property.

Last Minute Get-A-Way

5 of 5
We truly appreciate the owners, Deb & Terry, working with us to plan a short get away with our family!! Just a short drive from our home we felt like we were really getting a vacation in the woods. The kids really loved the game room, the wifi, the space outside, and the hike to the river! It is a nice hike going down to the river & the lake, be prepared the walk back is a little uphill and definitely a good workout. We enjoyed the grill on the deck, the fire pit was perfect for roasting marshmallows, and inside, the kitchen is very well stocked! The entire cabin is a very comfortable home away from home. We enjoyed our visit into the town of Blue Ridge - the locals were very welcoming! We would definitely stay here again!
