Cote D'Azur Serenity

5 of 5
When you open the door of this lovely modern apartment perched on the hillside overlooking Villefranche sur Mer, the view of the turquoise and sapphire blue of the Mediterranean Sea through the wall of windows, will take your breath away! The initial glimpse will transport you to a peaceful, relaxed, serene vacation state-of-mind that one only experiences in the South of France. This newly renovated, light and airy apartment has simple European style and all the comforts of home. Upon arrival, my family and I immediately took refuge on the huge balcony with a cool bottle of rose and sumptuous French bread, cheese, and olives. The well equipped kitchen allowed us to
prepare many home cooked meals made with France's finest and freshest ingredients found at the local outdoor markets, bakeries, and butchers. When we didn't want to cook, we had no trouble finding an outstanding bistro, restaurant, creperie, or gourmet take-out in the area. Villefranche has a large pebble beach, and the surrounding communities have sandy and rocky beaches. Each beach is easily accessible by foot, car, or bus and all are within walking distance to restaurants, shopping, and other attractions. Renting a boat is easy even for those who don't consider themselves seafaring aficionados. For the more experienced mariner, there are speedboats, sailboats, and scull rentals. If scuba diving is your pleasure, there are plenty of diving expeditions .
For sightseeing, there is the beautiful city of Nice, the port of Antibes, and the enchanting medieval village of Eze. For those interested in gambling there are the casinos at Beaulieu or Monte Carlo. One can never be bored in this beautiful setting on the Cote d’Azur.

But whatever you choose, whether swimming, sailing, walking, or sightseeing, it is always wonderful to return to this peaceful, beautiful apartment and relax on the balcony. From breathtaking sunrises to the pink sunsets, the view from from this apartment never fails to please. For us, the full moon was an added treat as it bathed the entire inlet, filled with yachts, cruise ships, and small boats, with a soft pale purple haze. We all passed such a fabulous vacation that we found it incredibly difficult to leave.

Stunning views near some of the most expensive real estate in the world.

From the outset Normand, the owner, was friendly and extremely helpful. We had a rental car and never failed to park at the rear of the building. Although, as other guests have commented, a car was not really required, we did find it useful for shopping at the local SuperU. The apartment was extremely clean, well maintained and equipped with high quality fixtures and fittings. Photographs do not do justice to the view. We spent many hours sitting on the large balcony watching the ever changing seascape, eating and drinking wine of course. The location is ideal for walking in three directions, the Cap itself, Villefranche to the west and Beaulieu to the east. Just across the quiet road there is also access to a small pebbled beach which is very popular with the locals for sunbathing and swimming. Thanks to VRBO we have stayed in some wonderful rentals both in Europe and the USA; this has to rank as one of the best. We have absolutely no hesitation in recommending it.
