LA BELLE VACANCE EN PROVENCE

5 of 5
The photos on the website did not prepare us fully for the beyond-beautiful property that is known as Villa Fontaine. We spent 2 glorious weeks there with close friends and used it as a base for exploring the beauty of Provence. Even though the location is extremely private, our explorations were easy due to the villa's proximity to Aix-en-Provence and other points of interest. Inside and out, the Villa was spectacular. From the outdoor pool house with kitchen to the roof terrace, we were never at a loss for wonderful memories as well as spectacular photo opportunities. The indoor gourmet kitchen was well-equipped and the living area provided all of us with ample space to enjoy each other or to find a private spot for reading or reflecting. The concierge, Erwan, and his lovely wife, Christel, were available always to make us feel welcome, answer our questions, and make suggestions and/or reservations when needed. On the day we arrived, Erwan prepared an excellent French supper for our group. This was a dream vacation for my husband and I. Spending time in Provence with dear friends AND calling Villa Fontaine our home for two weeks, made this holiday truly memorable!!

Spectacular Classic French Estate

5 of 5
The country location, the pine scented air, the mountains to the back and the Mediterranean Sea off in the distance made this slice of heaven perfect. The house was beautifully appointed and very clean upon our arrival. The service was prompt, friendly, and courteous. We especially enjoyed going to town in the morning for fresh croissants to be enjoyed in the courtyard before heading out for the day. The many local attractions made for memories my family will never forget. We even had the pleasure of hosting an elegant dinner party for our friends. The kids most enjoyed the pizza we made in our own pizza oven. Would highly recommend.... it was perfect!

Beautiful and well appointed apartment.

5 of 5
This apartment is everything the pictures show it to be - and may actually be better. It is huge, and our family of four had lots of room to spread out. The upstairs veranda is fantastic and was where we spent many of our afternoons relaxing. We had everything we needed in the kitchen and the furniture was really nice - you can tell the owner takes a lot of pride in his beautiful apartment. Being on the ramparts up to the castle was interesting, but if you have any mobility issues the walk up to the apartment door may be difficult. I kind of enjoyed the steep walk as it helped burn off all of the wine and cheese we consumed. :) The apartment is worth the 30 seconds of uphill climb! Both the owner, Jeffrey, and the contact, Dennis, were very nice and easy to stay in contact with. The only thing missing was an information sheet about what they would like you to do before check-out... I felt badly that we were supposed to remove all of the garbage; we had no idea and so we hadn't done so. We have rented many apartments and some say to leave the garbage, some say to remove it. A short sheet with requirements would be helpful to avoid any confusion from the renter, and annoyance from the owner. (Note - Dennis was very nice about the misunderstanding although I know it caused him a bit of stress.) This is a great location for day trips and we thoroughly enjoyed Nimes, Arles, Avignon, and the Pont du Gard. There is a lot of history in this location, and this is a great apartment to come back to after exploring.
