Beautiful apartment, wonderful neighborhood

5 of 5
My husband and I recently stayed for three weeks in this lovely apartment. Every word of description provided by the owner, Alex, as well as the pictures are completely accurate and only just begin to convey how much you will enjoy staying here. This is the fourth time we have rented different apartments for multiple weeks in the 16th and we have already reserved this apartment again for next year. We are shopping around no more! From the quiet of the private gated street to the contemporary elegance and comfort of this apartment to the wonderful neighborhood right outside the gate, we were completely happy here for our extended stay. Alex goes above and beyond to make your stay a delight. The welcoming baguette, excellent cheeses, fruit and wine let us settle right in after our flight. We especially liked the upstairs area that let one of us work on computer or nap while the other of us enjoyed the comfort of the open high ceilinged living space downstairs. The kitchen is very well equipped and supplied. Unlike other apartments, all paper products are amply supplied, not just starter sets. Because this is Alex's personal home when he is not in the US, not just a rental home, you get the advantage of living in a space that he has decorated and furnished with superb taste and TLC. We miss it already and look forward to next year.

Convenient in so many ways

5 of 5
1) Take the Air France (Les Car) shuttle/bus if you can. They only have two stops. The Arch is the 2nd stop. And it seriously drops you off 2 minutes from the apartment. You can also take it back to the airport when you leave. You can buy the ticket straight from the driver the day of departure. 2) the apartment is very secure. You need an electronic key to enter the building. You will need to use it twice before you even get to the actual apartment. The area is very safe. We walked around at night many nights. 3) the apartment is very cozy. Leo showed us where everything was inside the apartment and how everything worked. He also let us know where we could load up on provisions - a very quaint row of shoppes a few minutes walk, that sold everything from fresh bread to seafood. I highly recommend stocking up. Our first day there, we loaded up on coffee (fresh ground at the coffee beanery), baguettes, cheeses, fresh fruit and of course wine. The proprietor of the wine shop was very helpful. In fact, everyone was very pleasant and they all spoke some English. We even picked up some flowers to give it that homey feeling. (Leo: one suggestion - a vase?) I used a coffee mug. It was great to wake up to fresh coffee every morning as we got ready before we walked across the street to the boulangerie for espresso and a chocolate croissant. It was equally enjoyable to come back to the apartment to a nice glass of wine while we relaxed and got ready for dinner. 4) The subway station was also a 2 minute walk. We used it every day. I recommend just buying a Carnet rather than the day passes. The Carnets come 10 tickets at a time and you can use them whenever you please. No expiration like the passes have. If we needed more, we just bought another set. 5) and for those of you interested in shopping - the champs élysées was only a few blocks walk from the apartment. I took advantage of the Vat tax refund. We loved Paris and our vacation was made that much better because of our lodging. Thank you Leo and Philippe. We would definitely stay here again. One last note: we packed light because we knew we were going to take advantage of the washing machine in the apartment. We did laundry twice and were even able to take clean clothes home. I recommend September. The weather was glorious! Many days, not a cloud in the sky.

SUPERB!

5 of 5
Fabulous. Everything was just as the other reviews say - so much better in person! I will add that not only can you see Notre Dame and hear its wonderful bells, but there are literally four other churches you can see from the balcony, and so you get various bells throughout the day. And at night, fun (but not too loud) music and energy from the street below. Plus, I ate a ton in France, and came back a pound lighter, thanks to all of the steps! Like your own private gym, that stairwell is! Also, both Malin and Aurelien were very helpful, with directions and assistance. Aurelien was great at emailing and making sure we had everything we needed to get to the apartment, and Malin greeted us, showed us around, and even helped with getting us a great seat at dinner! (Thanks, Malin!).
