WE ALL LOVED THIS PLACE!!

5 of 5
When we first started searching for a rental for our group, we weren't sure whether there would be 8-10 people or just 4. Everything about this townhome looked great, so we chose it. As it turned out, only 4 of us (ages 64-66) took part in this reunion so we each had our own bedroom and privacy. There was ample storage for clothes. This was the perfect place for us!! It is difficult to say all I want to in this little comment box. The house is in a quiet, safe neighborhood very convenient to downtown (we walked downtown every day), and there are two small grocery stores right around the corner where we stocked up. The owners are a charming couple who speak perfect English and were attentive and accommodating, though completely unintrusive. They are people with whom we never want to lose contact. All I can do is rave about this place. We referred to it always as "home." It is clean! The rooms are good size and airy. The kitchen has everything one would need, though I suggest if you are from the USA and love a big cup of coffee, bring your own mug or buy a souvenier mug in town. There are two full bathrooms, one upstairs and one downstairs. There is a lovely fenced-in back yard, a new washer, dryer, dishwasher, fridge, nuke, coffemaker, and electric teapot. The kitchen is fully stocked with dishes and flatware. We were sorry to leave this little piece of heaven and hope to return there again and again, perhaps to stay for an extended period next time. We highly recommend this home.

FANTASTIC STAY

5 of 5
It has been ALL we hoped for, and much more. So comfortable and everything so very convenient; Have told my friends that is the best possible place to stay in FRANCE. Can you imagine? A beautiful castle for you and your family? The dream came true! I shall always remember this visit as one of the Best of my life. I will think of these wonderful days as long as I live. Thank you Jeff and Sylvie for your hospitality.

Le Grand Cortiou is magnificent!

5 of 5
As beautiful as the advertising pictures were, the house was even better. It is truly a special place. The farmhouse itself is both "grand" and comfortable. The rooms are generous and airy and have wonderful views in all directions. We particularly loved the small oval window views from the second floor. Just like a Fragonard painting! The potager was a lovely surprise for us. We were able to make many lovely meals from the fresh hen's eggs and just-picked vegetables. Sweet peas and fragrant roses were a bonus. The caretaker David is a gem. He could not have been more welcoming and helpful. He suggested really terrific day-trips and gave us great restaurant and winery suggestions. As non-French speakers, it was a particular help to have him available for questions. We loved the area. The property itself is incredibly private and peaceful, but it is also close to the vineyards and sights of the Loire Valley. A great home base for visiting the region. The only constructive criticism we have is regarding the kitchen set-up. Storage of dishes and glassware is not terrific, particularly for tall people. We had to get on our hands and knees to get access to china and bowls. A few hanging cabinets or open shelves would solve that problem. The oven is also in an awkward location. Also, I might suggest a better dining table outside. The plastic table and chairs don't really fit the grand setting. These were small things, though. We will highly recommend the property and will gladly tell our friends about it. We had an amazing stay. Thank you!!
