WONDERFULLY SITUATED, QUIET, RELAXING

4 of 5
A beautiful location, peaceful, yet within comfortable driving distance of amenities. The views across the rolling hills of the Gers from the well-maintained gardens are quite stunning. The cottage offered comfortable accommodation for the four adults and two children in our party - the third bedroom, up in the tower of the cottage, is accessed via a small staircase from the second bedroom. Ideal for a couple with two children. The well-tended gardens were a real delight with a lovely low chlorine pool and tennis court. Lots to do in this wonderful region with its medieval towns and villages, restaurants, markets and scenery. The owner was very helpful when we were making our booking and Nicolas, who looks after the property, very welcoming on our arrival.

Your Magical Place in the South of France

5 of 5
From the train ride between Paris and the Gers (Agen), we were taken by the wonderful scenery and warmth of the people we dealt with to rent cars, get directions etc. All were very accommodating, even though neither of us could speak much French. They seemed happy to know that we were just trying. It was a lovely drive to Lectoure and when we located the driveway, our hearts began to pound. The long entrance to the house was beautiful, and when we approached it, our hearts were pounding even faster. Our first view was of the house, surrounded by hundreds of acres of sunflower fields. It was like a dream. When we walked into the main house, the first words out of my mouth were "good lord Janet, we have just gone back in time". It was fabulous. While we did not stay in the guest tower, called the Pigeon House, we did go there many times with a glass of wine, to capture different views. We used the swimming pool everyday many times, when not touring, and enjoyed it immensely. The house was fabulous with its big working kitchen and fireplace, but l think that we spent most of our time on the many stone patios and decks, that capture the unbelievable views of the neighboring farms, rolling hills and sunflower fields. We had cheese and wine on the decks every afternoon, complimented by the delicious blue grapes (growing along the walkways), and fresh figs. We cannot begin to say enough about Le Hiron that would express our true feelings and enjoyment. The little towns we visited were extremely quaint, and we were treated very nicely by the locals and restaurants. We look forward to our planned return to Le Hiron within the next year or two, and the peace and serenity we enjoyed while there. Thank you so much for introducing us to your magical place in the south of France.
